Yuna mustered as fierce a glare as she could from her position on the ground, trying no to deter as the pain from her forehead coursed through her body.
She knew she was the exact opposite of intimidating; the pirate has all the advantages in this situation. She was bound, helpless on the ground, and clearly injured. Not only that; but Azazel had one advantage he wasn't even aware of...
Yuna tried to quell her internal panic; had she been laying on her stomach for long? She replayed the scene in her head; she more so landed on her side when he threw her in the study, and stuck the blow to her head.
Did he hit her anywhere else? Could Yuna simply not remember from the head trauma?
She huddled closer to Leo as he took another step towards her, glare remaining.
"I believe you have something of mine." The pirate repeated, coming to stand before the siblings sword in hand.
Yuna never imagined this would be the circumstance in which she came face to face with her terror again, but life seemed to be exceptionally unpredictable lately.
With a pounding heart and a resolute glare set, Yuna spit out;
"I have stolen nothing from a man who takes innocent lives so easily." She grit.
Yuna arms began to burn from her constant struggling against the thick constraining ropes. It caused a sort of rug burn on her forearms from the fabric that was already covering there.
The man remained silent, and Yuna shifted uneasily.
His eyes were so visible now. Yuna had dreamt of them for so long, like her body wouldn't let her forget the terror they'd evoked within her. It was the dark cloud that always loomed over her head, and the shadow that she'd seen out of the corner of her eye every time she felt like she were being watched.
He had conjured up all of that fear within Yuna for so many years. It was like an iron chain was fastened around her since that fateful night. Yuna stared up into Azazel's dark eyes expecting to see that same burning hatred and blood lust she'd seared into her mind... his evil and almost demonic glare that haunted Yuna in her dreams.
Yuna had to quell her curiosity when she noticed his eyes seemingly reflected nothing; absolute indifference.
After all these years, after everything she'd prepared for to encounter him again... Yuna felt anger course through her at those damn empty eyes.
"Azazel."
She spoke the name like it were a curse she swore on a poor village boy. Yuna barely registered the small shake beginning to course through her body at a constant rhythm; whether it be from adrenaline or horror or a mixture of both, she was not sure.
Something shifted in those cold eyes, and Yuna's deep puzzlement only grew as she recognized the emotion as genuine surprise.
"Haven't been called that name in quite some time." He noted dryly, voice crackled and weathered like a smoking fire.
The room was darkly lit, but Yuna knew it was no later than late evening. Soft light did trickle in from a nearby window, but it gave Yuna little comfort.
She watched Azazel with furrowed brows, lashing out like a viper and still keeping herself planted firmly between Azazel and Leo.
"Would murderer be better?" Yuna bit out, but he kept that same uninterested look on his features.
Azazel stabbed his sword into the ground with a frightening amount of force, and Yuna bit back a yelp at the intimidation tactic. The sword's blade stuck up from the wood, taunting her as Yuna saw her own bloodied reflection in the metal.
