“I haven’t kissed you the entire day.” Richard says as he stands between my legs while I sit on the back of my car.  I smile sadly. Not wanting to kiss him without letting him know about Tristen.

          “What’s wrong?” He’s worried.

“Last night I kissed her.” I blurted out and waited for his reaction.

          He smiled. “Tristen?”

          I nod.

He groans. And rest his head on my shoulder. I don’t move, afraid of what he’ll say.

“Do you care for this girl?” he looks up at me genuinely.

          “I don’t know.”  I shrug.

“Do you want to kiss her again. Do you want it to go further.”

“I’ve never been attracted to girls. I did want it to go further. I wish I didn’t.  I don’t now.”

          “Why?”

“Because I don’t want to hurt you.”

“I’ll love you anyway. It’s too late not to.” He’s sounds hurt.

“You love me?” I feel the tears sting my eyes.

“I’ve loved you since I met you, I wouldn’t doubt it if she did too.”

          He let that sink in.

“Which is why I’m not mad at you Ryon.” He smiles.

“I’m not going to stop trying because someone else steps up. And I’m not going to force you to choose me. All I can do is show you that I’m in this for you.”

“I already chose you.” He smiles and his lips are on mine, he wraps his arms around my waist and lifts me up, I smile as cars honk in approval, or disapproval. I enjoyed it anyway.  He places me on the ground and pulls away.

          “I love you, Ryon Carter.”

“I love you, too, Richard Williams.” He smiles blissfully and kisses me once more.
