Hank Voight P.O.V. - 2 Months Later

My phone ringing woke me up. Halstead.

Hank: What's up, Jay?

Jay: It's Lena. She was having another nightmare and pulled a gun on me. She's manic. You gotta come talk to her.

Hank: I'll be there in 10 minutes.

I got up, going straight to my SUV and driving to Jay and Lena's. Jay let me in and she was pacing, holding a gun and crying.

Hank: Lena? Honey, it's Dad. Talk to me. What's going on?

Lena: I-I-I can't stop seeing it! Over and over! When I close my eyes or try to sleep, I see it!

Hank: Lena, you need to talk to someone.

Jay: Babe, I want you to get some help. You've pulled a gun on me 3 times this week. You won't let me touch you now. Please, talk to someone.

She set the gun down and fell to the floor, crying. I sat with her, holding her. Jay picked up the gun and put it away.

Lena: I'm so sorry, Jay. Please.... forgive me?

Jay: Baby, there's nothing to forgive. You're going through a tough time. It's okay. I got you.

She moved into his arms. Jay held her close. She passed out soon after and Jay carried her to their bed.

Jay: Maybe she should stay with you while she gets her head right.

Hank: No, her place is here with you. I'll catch you later at the district. I'll call Dr. Charles, first thing in the morning. We'll get Lena sorted out, Jay.

I went back home and made the call to Dr. Charles. He agreed to see Lena at the district in the morning. Jay and Lena were waiting in my office when I arrived. She had been crying again and Jay was holding her hand.

Jay: She's agreed to talk to Dr. Charles. Took some convincing but Erin helped her see that she needs to talk about what happened.

Hank: Good. Because he's on his way. Lena, we're gonna get through this.

She nodded and looked at Jay, squeezing his hand.

Jay: And we talked it over. She's going to move back home with you for a while.

I nodded.

Hank: Okay. That may be smart. Jay, you're more than welcome to stay with us.

Jay: She needs some time alone. We aren't breaking up. Just cooling down while she gets some help. Right babe?

She nodded and sniffled.

Lena: Yeah. Just taking a break to let me get my head back on right.

Hank: Lena, give me a minute with Jay.

She left the room and went straight to Erin, hugging her.

Hank: What happened to wanting to marry my girl, Halstead?

Jay: I still do. This time apart, it gives me a chance to look for an engagement ring. And to plan out when to propose. I figured I'd propose right after she gets past all this.

Hank: And if she never does?

Jay: Then I'll propose when Dr. Charles says she's stable enough to not pull a gun on anyone during a nightmare.

Hank: If you leave my daughter high and dry, I'll kill you, Jay.

He nodded and sighed.

Jay: I love her. I just want her to get help and find her way back again. You know?

Hank: I know, Jay. I do. We'll get her back.

We watched Dr. Charles come in and Erin introduced them immediately.

Hank: Hey, I've been meaning to tell you, I'm lucky to have you in my unit. And in my family.

I patted his shoulder as Dr. Charles led Lena into our break room.

Lena Voight Point of View

I say down across from Dr. Charles, holding onto my own shoulders.

Dr. Charles: We're just gonna talk. Okay, Lena?

I nodded.

Dr. Charles: Tell me about New York.

Lena: Do you mean what happened or...

Dr. Charles: Yes and no. Tell me about what happened leading up to that.

Lena: I argued with the Manhattan Assistant District Attorney. He's my ex and we were arguing about my father and my new relationship. And I went to my hotel room. Then someone knocked on my door. I thought it was my ex. But it wasn't.

I started shaking.

Lena: It was horrible. He beat me, starved me, raped me over and over again. He kept talking about Jay and Rafael. And it's like he knew me. He knew my dad's name. Justin's. He kept talking about Jay when he raped me. And I can't even look at Jay now or else I see that bastard!

I started crying and pulled my knees to my chest.

Lena: He asked if I made Jay feel as good as I was making him feel. I keep having nightmares about it. I scrub myself clean three times a day.

Dr. Charles: I want to see you three times a week for a while. We're going to work through this together.

I nodded and wiped my eyes.

Lena: I moved back in with my dad. I can't even live with my boyfriend. I pulled a gun on him during nightmares.

Dr. Charles: I suggest giving your firearms to your father for the time being. And slowly acclimate back into cohabitation with Detective Halstead.

I nodded and took a deep breath.

Lena: Thanks, Doc. I feel a little better already.

Dr. Charles: Telling your story can be empowering, Lena. Soon, you won't even let the rape affect you. We'll get to that point one day.

I smiled and started crying again.

Lena: So I'll be able to be with Jay again?

He nodded.

Dr. Charles: Yes, Lena. You and Jay will be fine once we work through this.

I walked Dr. Charles out and sat at my desk.

Atwater: Lena, I'm glad you're back. Don't know what we'd do without you.

He bent down and hugged me. Then I felt more weight on me. Ruzek.

Ruzek: We're never letting you go to New York again.

Jay: Off my woman, guys.

They cleared the way for Jay. He sat down on my desk and held my hand.

Jay: How does me, you, and a fancy restaurant on Friday night sound?

Lena: Sounds out of your comfort zone but I like the idea.

Jay: Good. I'll even wear a suit.

I laughed and shook my head. Jay ran a hand down my shoulder and I jerked away from him. That's how he touched me. I felt the memory flooding my head.

Jay: Babe, you alright? Hank!

I started crying and shaking. Dad was by my side, holding me.

Hank: Let's get you home. Okay?

I nodded and left the district with Dad. This is going to hard to work through.
