Lena Voight Point of View
I woke up to the sun streaming through the window. My curtains were open and Rafael was looking around my room. I sat up, gripping the bedsheet tightly. Rafael was in just a pair of boxers, looking at pictures of me and Justin that were hanging on my wall.
Lena: You left me here alone.
He turned around and smiled, making his way back into bed with me. Rafael kissed me softly and held me close to him.
Barba: I'm sorry, my love. I just wanted to see the rest of your room. I'm only familiar with your bed so far.
Then a knock on the door occured.
Hank: Lena, let's get breakfast.
Lena: Okay! I'll meet you downstairs in 15.
Hank: Did that lawyer go home?
Lena: Uh no. He's still in town.
Hank: Where's he staying?
Lena: Uhh we'll discuss that soon.
I heard the sigh of disappointment.
Hank: He's in there, isn't he?
Barba: Morning, Sgt. Voight.
Hank: Dining room, 10 minutes.
I got out of bed and started getting dressed.
Lena: You get dressed while I handle this.
Barba: You seem to be scared. Has your father abused you in any way?
Lena: Absolutely not! Just let me deal with this.
I went downstairs and Dad was pacing the room.
Hank: Lena, what the hell were you thinking?! You know the rules!
Lena: Dad! I'm not 17 anymore! I'm a grown ass woman!
Hank: And this is my house! My rules!
Lena: You let Justin bring girls home all the time!
I hate that I was treated so differently from Justin. Dad sighed and rubbed his forehead.
Hank: Tell your boyfriend to meet me by the SUV in 5. You stay here.
Dad walked outside, slamming the door. Rafael came downstairs and looked at me.
Barba: That sounded like it went well.
Lena: Go outside. Dad said he wanted you out there. Be careful. If he takes you to a place called the silos, you call me immediately.
Rafael walked outside and I flung myself onto the couch. This is FUBAR.
Hank Voight Point Of View
Lena's boyfriend walked outside looking scared.
Hank: Get in.
He did as I asked and stayed quiet as I drove.
Hank: Why Lena? What made you chase after her?
Barba: I didn't chase after her. We just bonded. It just happened.
Hank: Did you pursue her when she was with Matt?
Barba: No, I didn't. We were just getting to know each other then. And became friends. I didn't ask Lena out until after she broke off the engagement.
Hank: Good.
Barba: Where are we going?
Hank: The silos.
He reached to take out his phone.
Hank: Wha the fuck do you think you're doing?
Barba: I...
Hank: Lena warned you, huh?
Barba: Yes she did.
Hank: I'm not gonna kill you, Counselor. I just want to show you something.
I stopped, putting the SUV in park. We got out and I led Barba to the water's edge.
Hank: I used to bring my kids here when their mother was alive. Show them the skyline of our city. Told them it would be theirs one day. Justin went down the bad path and is finally getting straight. Lena followed closing in my footsteps.
Barba: Lena is nothing like you, Sgt.
Hank: You wanna watch your tone with me? You're dating my daughter, which means I already hate you.
Barba: I love your daughter. She loves me. Just be happy for her. Lena is amazing. She's wonderful. So if you brought me here to scare me away from her, it's not going to work. I'm not going anywhere.
Hank: Standing your ground. I can respect that. But wait till you meet her brother before being so bold.
Justin will scare him off in a minute. My daughter deserves the best and I won't allow her to leave Chicago.
