Elvis has been gone a year. Norma hasn't seen him since he moved away, but at the start they did call each other until Elvis stopped calling and answering her.

............."You almost ready dear?" Marie asked before coughing like death. The elderly woman had been doing terrible, but she wouldn't let on just how bad she was to her granddaughter since she was the only family Norma had left.
Marie had prayed that the Presley family would come back around and it had been answered. Elvis was putting on a concert in town and it would givr Marie the chance she needed. The woman coughed again and then weezed at the end.
Norma sighed looking in the mirror. "I-Should I even go Granny, your not feeling good again. I'm just going to stay here and help you-." The elderly woman shook her head. "No. No thank you sweetheart. I'm alright here- You go see Elvis!" Norma smiled.
"Tell that boy I miss him- Oh and give him this for me- But wait until after his shows finished alright?" Marie asked handing her granddaughter an envelop. "Okay. Your sure your okay?" Norma asked softly.
"More than. Now want me to help you with your hair?"
Elvis was a shaken mess as he fixed his shirt collar. "And-And don't forget both the flowers for Marie and Norma."
Vernon sighed. "I won't son." Elvis turned to his father. "So how do I look?" He asked with a smile. "Great son, you'll kill it tonight."
"Mr. Presley, your mothers on the phone." Elvis smirked. "I'm on my way." Vernon sighed. "I'll leave now to get the little girl." He called walking off. Elvis lowered the phone. "DADDY, THE FLOWERS, DON'T FORGET THE FLOWERS!"
Vernon huffed. "I GOT EM BOY!"
Elvis smiled putting the phone back. "Sorry-But the flowers." He muttered.
Norma was looking out the window, her eyes darting around the yard. "You don't think that he got lost do you Granny?"
The woman chuckled. "No sweetheart."
Vernon sighed pulling up to the home. He grabbed the flowers and got out of the car to see Norma jumping up and down at the window with excited.
The man smirked and waved back at the child.
"He's here!" Norma yelled running up to the door.
Marie stood and smiled. "Well let the man in!"Vernon smiled at Norma when the door opened. "Hello sweetie, you ready to see Evis?"
Norma couldn't contain her excitement as she jumped around. "He can't wait to see you too." Vernon said stepping farther into the home.
"Marie, this is yours-From Elvis." The elderly woman smiled and took the flowers. "My my that wonderful boy. He got me my favorites. I havent gotten flaowers since my dear husband passed on." She said with a sigh. "Norma, this is for you." Vernon said handing the child her smaller bunch of flowers.
"Dear, why don't you run these to the kitchen and fix them up?" The child, taking the flowers from her granny, smiled and took off.
Vernon watched as Marie had yet another coughing episode. "You alright?"
He asked helping her sit down. For the first real time the woman let her guard down. Vernon could see in her eyes she wasn't alright.
"No." She muttered, holding his hand. "I'm afriad I-." Just before she could finish Norma bounced back into the room.
"Granny, you okay?" She asked bending down to her grandmother. The woman tried to smile, yet Vernon knew something was wrong. "I'm alright. You best hurry up!" She said smiling.
Vernon sighed as he opened the door for the child. "Norma, don't forget this dear!" Norma turned to see her grandmother holding the envelope out. "Right!"
Vernon smiled at the woman as Norma ran to the car. "We'll talk later-Okay?" He asked softly. "Yes, yes of course. You best get my grandaughter to see that son of yours before she has a break down."
Vernon smiled and shut the door with a sigh.
"Come on!" Norma called happily. Vernon smiled and got in the car. " Buckle up and we'll be on our way!" He said standing by the car.
