Sun Records started in 1952!

Norma laughed. She had won the game. Elvis had a hard time catching his breath as he stood next to the happy girl.

"Hey E, look at that sign in the window over there!" Norma said, pointing across the street.
"That old for sale sign? Thats been there forever." Elvis said turning to look at the once empty building.

"No. It says you can record a real record!" Norma squealed. "Not just anybody Norma, recording artists, famous people like-."
With a sigh Norma grabbing the boys hand and pulled on him.

"Can't you read? Or is all you got air in that head of yours Elvis Presly? You just pretty face?"

He laughed letting her pull him across the street. "Well I am. Natural blond." He committed. "Yes and now you smell like shoe polish all the time!" She snapped. "Hey thats cheaper than going to some shop and having someone do it for me!" Norma rolled her eyes stopping after crossing the street.

"It clearly says- Anyone can make a record- See!" She snapped now standing in front of the building. Elvis smirked.

"It also says like everything eles in this world- You have to pay." He crossed his arms looking her over. His face scrunched up. "Wait- Do I really smell like sheo palish?" He asked the young girl.

"Focus E! Four dollars!" She snapped, pointing at the price. "Thats a lot of money little one. You got that kind of cash on you?" He asked knowing the asnwer was a big no.

"I got two! I'll pay half. Thats a song on one side and then you pay for the other!" Elvis lost it laughing. "Pay half for what? Who's going to be making this record?"

"You!" She said pointing at the man. "Norma Jeane, why would I want to go and do a silly thing like that?" He asked softly.

"Because your voice is amazing. Your dream is to be a real singer -AND I really want to have a record by my all time favorite singer!"

Elvis scoffed. "Look here you- I'm not good enough- That group I auditioned for 'songfellows' let me now that much straight to my face." Norma pouted. "Please!"

"Norma, I ain't even got a record play at my place. Its one big old waste." The girl groaned.

"Elvis, please. My granny has one. And-And not only I would love it, but so would your mama! You can pick a song for the side you pay for and I'll pick my favorite that you sing for my side-Please Elvis!"

Sam Phillips, the owner and founder of Sun Records, noticed the two just standing outside his building.

"What are you two doing just standing around? Stop loitering outside my place of business." Sam snapped. "Sorry Sir. Norma, lets go."

"Is that sign true?" Norma asked Sam. He smiled. "It is. You wanna sing little girl?" He crossed his arms looking Norma over.

"No. I want Elvis to sing." Sam turned his attention to Elvis. "I'm not any good Norma." He said with a sigh.

"Well boy the sign don't say you have to be good. It just says you have to have four dollars- You have four dollars kid?" Sam asked. Before Elvis could answer- Norma did.

"We sure do. Elvis please do this for me!" She begged, grabbing his arm. Elvis sighed, knowing he couldn't tell her no and he could always make more money at work.

"Alright." Norma beamed. "What song you want me to do?" He asmed as they followed Sam inside.

"Teddy Bear!" Elvis chuckled. "I should have guessed. You always did like me singing that to you huh?"

That was the song Elvis would sing to get her to nap when he would babysit her. "Yep!"

"Well you get two songs for four dollars. Whats the other one gonna be- You are my sunshine?" Sam joked.

"No. I think I'll do my mamas favorite song for the other side."

Sam opened a door and called out. "Boys we got us a singer!"

Elvis walked into the sound booth with Norma, since he walked inside he couldnt keep his eyes off the grand piano. "M-Mr. Phillips, could I?" He asked motioning to the instrument. "Sure if you know what your doing. Just dont break it or you'll be owing be a lot for than four dollars."

Elvis smiled and sat on the bench. "Wow." He said opening the small cover to revil the keys. He whistled looking it over.

Five men walked from the back room. "You fellas know Teaddy Bear?" Sam asked. The men began to chuckled. "Whos singing?" One asked. "Yea boss, a little girl or what?" Another asked.

Just then Norma walked outside of the booth hearing the laughter.
"It really is a little girl singing." Notma smiled. "No. Elvis is singing the song for me." Norma said with a smile.

"He your brother or something?" Another asked.

"Nope." Norma said softly. "Boyfriend?" Another asked. Norma turned red. "N-no. Hes just a friend." With that the girl walked back into the booth.

"Right boys go sing back up on the teddy bear song." Sam said with a sigh. "Not what I envisioned the first song to be recorded in my shop- But four dollars is four dollars." He muttered to himself as he hit switches on the sound board.

Norma watched with glee as they started her song.

Updated.

Sorry it took me so long. More updates to come!

Elvis made his first record and its all thanks to Norma begging him to do it for her and Gladys.

Elvis really did have sandy colored blond hair and he ry world color it black with shoe polish before eventual changing to real hair dye.

He also auditioned and got turned down by a gospal singing group called songfellows .
