"And cut!" Taylor said after the last scene of the Willow music video was shot. Everyone looked at each other and smiled, happy from how it turned out. The last scene they did was the witch magic but just before that they were filming the younger version of them selves with the two kiddos. Taylor forgot how much she loved little kids due to almost a year in quarantine. All of her friends with kids never came over anymore and clearly it wasn't the smartest idea to get pregnant in the middle of a pandemic. Indiana, the girl that played younger Taylor came running over to Taylor as they were packing up some props. "Thank you for letting me be in the video!" Taylor hugged her tightly, "Of course sweetie! You did great. Where are you headed?" Indiana had the brightest smile on but it faded quickly when Taylor questioned her. The singer noticed and rubbed her back. "It's okay, you don't need to tell me if it's personal. I hope you have a good Christmas." Taylor smiled sweetly at her. "Well, my parents are currently in the hospital with the virus and it's not looking good." The small smile was drained from her face when she heard that. Even though there is only a 0.1 percent chance of death it was still scary. "Do you have anyone you're staying with?" The nod was sort of forced, "Who?"
"It's a foster home service until they get better." The six year old had pain in her voice. Taylor had an idea pop in her head but wasn't sure how her boyfriend would react. "Are they here with you or did you get dropped off?"
"They are here, over by the first set up I think." Taylor nodded and got up to go call Joe in privacy. A few short rings later, Joe picks up. "Hey, how's the video going?" She smiles due to his voice, "Good, really good but I wanted to talk to you about something important." A habit of hers, she bites her lip when she is nervous. "What is it?" Here goes nothing "So the little girl that plays me as a younger version of myself, her parents are really sick in the hospital with the virus and she us staying with a random foster parent..." she sighs, not knowing what to say, "I think what I'm trying to tell you is that I want her to stay with us until her parents are better, even though we are also strangers to her I think it would be better off. What do you think?" She can feel Joe smiling on the other end of the phone call, "Love that sounds like you are taking on a huge task if I say yes." She lightly laughed, "Yeah, I know."
"If we work out a bedroom, sure. It wouldn't hurt to get some practice in before we gave our own am I right?" The couple laughed together, "You're right, I'm going to go ask permission now...this just popped in my head so I have to see if we can take her home for a few weeks." Joe smiled at the other end of the phone, "Okay, I'll see you soon. I love you." Taylor had a grin plastered on her face, "I love you Joe." The call came to an end and Taylor walked over to the temporary foster parents. She kindly smiled and kept her distance as they were talking to someone else at the moment. When her time came to talk to them they thanked her for letting Indiana be in the video. "Oh, of course! She did great, I just wish her parents could see how wonderful she did." She gave a sad smile, as did the foster parents. "I'm sorry, I never got your names." "I'm Chris, and this is Isabella, or Izzy." Taylor nods, "Nice to meet you Chris and Izzy. I was just going to ask, and you are fully allowed to say no, but me and by boyfriend were wondering if we could take Indiana off of your hands until her parents are out of the hospital. I know you guys probably take wonderful care of her but I've read about how stressful these situations can be on little ones." The thirty year old bites her lip, nervous how they will respond. They smile before answering, they smile a lot. "I mean I don't see harm in it, you would definitely have to go through the state to get custody of her but they would most likely agree." Izzy stated. "Really? That's amazing. Thank you! One other thing, I know this is a hard topic but, what if her parent's don't make it? Would she have to go back or would there be a chance we could keep her?" Chris shakes his head unknowingly. "I'm not sure Taylor, I am sure that you and your partner will do everything to keep her happy either way. You are a very generous person. We will send her stuff over to your address when you get everything figured out, if you don't mind we should go say bye to her." Taylor nods again, "Wait. Can you just tell her that she's sleeping over tonight and not tell her everything yet?" Isabella gave her a thumbs up. Taylor stayed in that place for a few minutes before having a few conversations with some people producing the video. "That sounds perfect, thank you! Stay safe." She waved as one of the last people left set. This is when Indiana ran up to her and gave her a giant hug. "Thank you for letting me sleep over with you!" Taylor squeezed her and doesn't pull away from the hug until the little girl does. The embrace ends and Taylor explains that when they get to her house that her boyfriend will be there and that she has three cats. The car ride home wasn't a big deal, they made small talk. "So my boyfriend might sound funny, he's from another part of the world so he has an accent." Indiana laughed and took her hand. When they walk through the door, Taylor sets her purse on the table and leads the little one up stairs to go find Joe. She knocked on their bedroom door before walking in, "Come in." Taylor pushed the door open and smiled when she saw Joe on their bed on his computer. Joe shuts the laptop and goes over to the two girls, kissing Taylor lightly. "Hey, baby." "Hey" Joe bent down to the six year olds level, "So you must be the famous Taylor look alike." Indiana giggles and nodded. "Taylor was right, you talk funny." She laughed again. Joe gazes up at Taylor to see her holding in a laugh. "I talk funny, do I now?" Both Taylor and Joe know that they are thinking of the same memory, the time Taylor got drunk at the dive bar and made fun of his accent. "Yeah you do." Joe laughed, standing back up giving his girlfriend the we'll talk about this later look. Taylor had an amused smirk on her face as all three of them walked down into the living room. "What do you want to do?" Taylor questioned. "I'm hungry." "I could go for some food, do you want to order pizza?" Indiana agreed and Joe ordered it for the three of them. "It should be done in twenty minutes." As they wait for the pizza Taylor looks at her phone and sees a number she sort of recognized, she picked it up. "Is this the guardian of Indiana Carter?" Taylor nervously answered, "Yes, this is she." "We have to inform you that her parents only have minutes before they pass."
