Taylor groaned and turns to her other side. Her period came unexpectedly last light and she was having the worst cramps. She felt bad because it was her and Joe's anniversary, they were hoping to have a romantic night but that went down the drain.

Taylor moaned in pain and clutched her stomach. Her face was buried in the pillow, she hadn't had cramps like this in a while, they were to the point her back was hurting and she was about to cry.

Even though she didn't want to, she had to get up to make sure she didn't leak through, which has happened a few times when she was asleep. Luckily she didn't.

She laid back down, grabbed her phone, clicked on her period tracker and edited the dates. She had been a day earlier, she was really hoping that it stayed away for a couple days for their anniversary but it showed up.

Joe started to wake up due to a Taylor moving constantly.

"Baby, what's wrong?"

"It's nothing."

It's not like she was embarrassed that she started her time of the month, she just didn't want to bother him with all of the symptoms that came with it.

"Well you don't normally move around this much, what's going on?" He sat up and pulled her to his lap. When he rested his hands on her stomach she flinched.

"Ow"

"What'd I do?"

She didn't have a choice but to tell him.

"I'm on my period and my cramps are horrendous, you touched my stomach. It's sensitive right now."

"Aww, I'm sorry I wish I could help. Is there anything I could do?"

"My back hurts, could you rub it?"

He smiles at her and nods.

"Lay down and pull your shirt up."

She pulls her shirt over her head and fans her face, she was overly hot and didn't know why.

"Or take it off." He giggled at her, Taylor laid on her stomach and let him do his magic.

"Is it just your lower back?"

Taylor nods and he starts rubbing her back, it helped a lot but she knew that drinking water was the only permanent fix, lots of water.

A good ten minutes go by and Taylor gets squirmy again, her cramps were coming back stronger.

"I can't lay on my stomach any longer." She placed her hand on her abdomen and ran her thumb lightly over the area it hurt.

"Anything I can get you? Pain medicine, water, heating pad?"

She nodded to all of them, he came back with three bottles of water, a bottle of pain relief and a heating pad for the pain.

"Here are the pills, I'll plug this in for you, do you want it on high, medium or low?"

"High, thank you for all this. You don't have to baby me, I've dealt with this for about twenty years."

"You shouldn't have to do it on your own, even though it's natural doesn't mean you should keep your pain to yourself. You tell all your friends about it so I expect you to tell me about it."

She nods, knowing he's right. She does tell her friends a lot, usually before telling him. That's just a natural thing that has become a habit of hers over the years.

"Are you hungry, do you need more sleep? What do you need?"

"I'm kinda hungry."

"Any cravings?"
