"Taylor, this is weird. You don't have a fever but you're throwing up, you're tired, and you're aching. Why don't we just go to the doctor? What if you have food poisoning?" Taylor squeezed her eyes shut, shaking her head no. "I'm getting a headache, can you please get me some pain relief or something?" Joe huffed but went and grabbed a few pills and a glass of water. All he wanted was for his girlfriend to be healthy and okay. "Taylor I'm serious. This isn't normal." This only made Taylor shake her head again, "I get sick after the first day of tour a lot. It's no big deal, I just over worked myself." Her hand went over her head as a wave of pain washed over her. "Can you just leave me alone for a few hours so I can get and sleep this headache off? I don't want it to turn into a migraine." Joe nods and kissed her on her forehead before leaving the bedroom that they shared. She should be fine right, the point she made about getting sick after the first performance was true but he hadn't ever seen her throwing up more than once, this was happening every half an hour to fifteen minutes, ever since she woke up. A few hours rolled by quickly, Joe knew that Taylor would be up soon so he toasted some bread and added a light layer of peanut butter for protein. Not to much but enough to keep down for a bit. Just as he suspected, Taylor woke up after a two hour nap. Taylor heard a small knock on the door, saying come in she smiled at the sight of a little something to eat. She prayed that it would stay down, she felt better now that her headache went away, it made her less nauseous. "I made this up for you, I didn't know if you would be up for eating but I want you to at least try and eat some, I also brought you a few water bottles to get you hydrated. We don't need to go to the hospital because you got dehydrated, the media would have a field day." Joe chuckles as Taylor smiles. "Thank you. You're the best." After taking a few bites of the toast she laid the plate on the night stand, not sure if her stomach growled because she was hungry or it was turning and telling her she was going to get sick again. Joe took her hand, "You okay?" "Mhm, just being cautious. I think I'm fine, I just need to eat and drink and rest." Joe agreed and sat next to her, watching shows and movies all day. She indeed did get sick a couple more times but not nearly as bad of the morning where it seemed to never end. "I scheduled you an appointment tomorrow. I don't want you sick on tour in a state you don't have medical insurance in. I'll go with you." Taylor sighs and turns her head to face him, "You really don't have to, I'm sure I'll be fine in a few days, its probably just a stomach bug." Joe intertwined their fingers, "I know but I just want you to be okay. If you were right then you told me so but I'd rather be safe than sorry."
-----------------------------------------------------------
"We're just going to draw some blood, looks like they were supposed to do that last time." Taylor's doctor, Kaitlyn told the couple. Taylor nods nervously with a small smile. The reason they held off on the blood last time was because she had already gotten a few shots that day and almost passed out. If you asked her for a list of her fears, needles would be at the top right next to sea urchins, bugs, going to jail and many other things. Joe sees the discomfort in her eyes, he takes her hand knowingly. "You're okay, don't stress yourself out. If you feel like you're going to faint then say something and they will stop, I promise." He kissed her hair and leaned against her side as they waited for the doctor to come back. "Do you think they know I'm scared of needles?" It was a random question but Joe didn't show it, "I'm not sure baby, it depends if they ever wrote it in your records." Fifteen minutes pass and a small knock on the door was heard before Kaitlyn walked in with a tray full of needles. Taylor grips Joe's arm, already nervous. Kaitlyn notices, "Not a fan of needles are we?" Taylor shakes her head, "I've been your doctor for twelve years Taylor, I haven't ever hurt you have I?" A shaky breath leaves Taylor's mouth, "No." Kaitlyn smiles, "Plus you've got your support system right next to you. Four years going strong, you're okay, just breath and let me do this. If it becomes to much just tell me and I'll do my best to stop if I'm in a spot that I can stop." Taylor confirmed that she was ready, holding tight to Joe's hand and not looking at the pointy medal. She could feel her arm being cleaned off while her head was buried in Joe's neck, waiting for the countdown. "Okay Taylor, I'm going to try and find a vein then we go from there." Kaitlyn flicked Taylor's arm to make the veins pop out and tied a rubber band around her bicep. Taylor let out a heavy breath, she knew it was coming. "Looks like I found a good one, just hold still and you'll be fine." Per to Taylor's request, Kaitlyn counted down by three and inserted the needle. Her face scrunched up when she felt the sting but soon relaxed. It took ten minutes to get all the blood they needed and Taylor now had a bandage on me arm. "I'll just go run these few tests and come back with some results." Kaitlyn smiled and walked off. Taylor laid down on the examination table, exhausted. She still felt sucky, she got sick a few times this morning and is still tired as ever. Joe took her hand, running his thumb over her palm. This calmed her nerves a lot. "How are you feeling?" Joe questions her, "Ugh, I have a slight headache and I'm still nauseous and tired. So just great." The sarcasm bled through her words, Joe knew she wasn't feeling good at all and hoped they could get her on antibiotics for it to go away. Half an hour later Kaitlyn comes in with her computer ready to find out what's wrong and the blood test results. "Okay, so the tests all came back perfectly, no cancers or anything concerning. We did go ahead and check for a few other things since you are in a sexual active relationship, nothing wrong there but there was something that caught my eye." Taylor's face dropped, something was really wrong, what was wrong with her? So many thoughts ran through her head at once, she was brought back into reality when Joe squeezed her hand. "We ran a pregnancy test, just in case, you did say you were on the pill correct?" The singer nodded, "Well then I'm going to ask you to stop taking those because, congratulations you're pregnant!" Kaitlyn said with much enthusiasm. Taylor and Joe looked at each other in shock. That one percent of people that get pregnant while on the pill was her. "Um. Is it possible to confirm it?" Taylor asked, "It is, but, if we do that then we will have to do all these test on you. If I were you I would go home and rest before we do any testing again. Of course we want baby to be healthy but a week won't hurt."
