After work that day, Titi rushed to Iya's house. It was not a scheduled meeting. She had to wait because Iya was attending to someone else. Titi could not hold herself, she broke down in tears, narrating all that had transpired the day before. Iya agreed that it was time to act, but first Titi must calm down.
"Titi, you need to be still on the inside and focus, let go of anxiety and fear. This panic mode will not help you or your daughter. It's time to meditate and focus on Light, expel darkness and the shadows," Iya told her.
"I know! I know!" Titi replied, trying hard to calm her nerves.
Iya guided her to the meditation sofa. Then Titi began taking deep breaths. She closed her eyes, entering a full meditative state. It took about fifteen minutes to get calm.
"Thank you so much, Iya. I really needed that."
"It only natural to be anxious. But you must always remember being calm is the key. How soon do you think we can get this done? I am a bit free this week, and anyway your case in an emergency."
"How about tomorrow? No next tomorrow. It would give me time to prepare," replied Titi. "Next tomorrow, immediately after work."
This wasn't the first time of bring Funmi to Iya's place. She loved to play in Iya's garden, chasing after butterflies. When playtime was over, which was shorter than usual, it was time for lunch and siesta. She fed her daughter lunch and soon enough, Funmi fell asleep. The meditation started, and in a few minutes, Titi was in the astral plane and then into her daughter's dream world. Titi and her daughter played for a while and sitting in Funmi's beautiful garden. It was time to talk to her daughter.
Titi asked her, "Funmi, do you remember the bad dream you had the day that Aunty Tolu came visiting." Funmi nodded have a worried look on her face. The dream scared her very much, she hadn't forgotten it.
"That evil creature wants to hurt you. Funmi my dearest daughter, it wants to take your bright and shining Light."
"Funmi look inside you, do you see that light shining so bright?"
Funmi bends her to see the glowing light radiating so brightly.
"Mama, your light don't shine so bright as mine?"
"Yes dear, that is because of the evil creature damaged mine when I was a child like you and now I am working on getting brighter each day," Titi answered her
"And now it wants to do the same to yours. When that happens, you would look like as horrible and scary as the creature itself. It would change you into someone wicked too. Do you understand what I just said?"
Funmi nodded her head.
"I know you don't want that because you are a good and beautiful girl."
Titi was glad that her daughter was very attentive. She loved her daughter with all of her being.
"Mama, did it come because I was a bad girl?"
"No, my dear, you are a good girl, the best daughter ever, that creature is just evil, and it likes nothing good. But we can make sure that it does not get you. I am going to take you somewhere no evil can reach and then you would hide your Light there. It would remain there until you are eighteen years old and then we can come here again and get your Light. By then the evil can no longer hurt you and you will be big enough to fight away the evil."
"Mama, I am scared," replied Funmi.
"It is okay to be scared. Mama is scared too. But we have to be strong and do this. I promise you everything is going to be alright, okay?"
Taking her daughter's hands and closing her eyes, she projected herself upwards, above the darkness of this world into the clouds; where there was pure light so beautiful and peaceful. As far as her eyes could see, Titi saw just clouds. They were standing on clouds. She had expected to see angels and people who were in heaven. I guess this is not heaven, Titi thought to herself. The brightness of the Light began hurting Titi. Even with the purification, there were still traces of darkness in her and that was why she was hurting.
"Look, over there Mama, it's a tree just like the one in my garden," she shouted excitedly.
"Come, let's go there and play," pulling her mother. Titi could not move any further, she was getting weaker.
Titi looked toward the direction her daughter had pointed to and didn't see the tree. There was nothing or no one else there except clouds. The brightness of the Light on Titi being was beginning was getting more intense and unbearable, but it did not affect on Funmi. It was time for them to leave.
Pulling her daughter towards her, "Funmi listen, don't forget why we are here okay. Remember, the evil creature wants your Light. You should go hide it on the tree. I will wait here for you but you must be quick have to get back soon."
"Can't we just stay here, you said the creature can't come here, let's stay please," Funmi pleaded
"Funmi, we can't stay here. I don't feel good. Bring out your Light and go keep it on the tree you see. I really don't feel good, hurry Funmi!" It was her turn to plead.
"I don't know how to do it," Funmi cried, looking a little confused as her mother doubled over in pain. "Mama, are you going to be okay, please tell me what to do."
"It's okay, dear. I will be alright. Take a deep breath and then slide your hand into your being and gently pull out the Light. That's it, you are doing fantastic," she praised her daughter.
"I did it, Mama."
"Good girl, now run and go keep it on the tree, quickly now. You don't want to be late for your favorite cartoon, do you?"
That was her cue, Funmi ran to the invisible tree. Her mum saw her standing for a while, she raised the hand that held the glowing Light, and then it disappeared. Funmi had told the tree why they were here and ask if it would be kind enough to keep her Light for her. It lowered one of its branches and she placed it on the branch. Funmi thanked the tree and ran back to her mother.
Taking her daughter by the hand, she told her daughter to close her eyes. Taking a deep breath and they started their descent.
"I am of the Light, I stand in the Light, I am of the Light and darkness has nothing in me," Titi recited.
Going back to their bodies from the brightness of the Heavenlies to the darkness of the astral plane was the traumatic change. It was a blanket of darkness and it seemed to suck the breath out of Titi. She saw the Lighthouse. Iya had projected her Light, so it covered the entire house. They got back into Funmi's dream world.
"You can open your eyes, Funmi. You are so brave and I am so proud of you. I love you so much. No one will hurt you. Funmi, it was time to wake up," She told her.
Titi got out of her meditation and gently woke her daughter up. Titi was very weak, her body hurt all over. She would recover.
"Well done," Iya told Titi. "My lighthouse caught the attention of familiars. I could sense them, they are gone now. It nothing to worry about. They cannot penetrate the Light and so will not know what happened. Go home and rest, but the battle is not over. Your sister and mother would come for Funmi, and when they do, they would know something is wrong. We do not know how they would react, so be prepared," she warned.
None of them knew how the removal of Funmi Light would affect her. Titi watched her closely and appeared to be doing okay. She was still her cheerful self. She was very excited about celebrating her seventh birthday.
