Chapter Seven: The Lost Heir's Return

YORRIS

The hologram flickered to life, revealing a young girl wearing a birthday hat, staring at a three-layer cake with a single candle. It's me. I knew it was me because I had an identical picture at home. This was my first birthday. My father and brother were with me, visible in the hologram. The scene shifted, showing my second to fourth birthdays. I was a cheerful and lively child. A smile crept onto my face. But I wasn't prepared for what came next.

The hologram now showed my father talking to---Lina? I glanced at my dad. He looked away, avoiding my gaze. I turned back to the hologram, hearing my father's voice.

"Lina, it still hurts. I can't accept the loss of my wife. And as Zarianna grows up, I see my late wife in her. She looks really like my wife. I can't help but blame my daughter for my wife's death, even though I know Zarianna is not at fault. My child is innocent, Lina. But whenever I see her, the pain becomes heavy day by day." My father's explanation brought tears to my eyes. He was right. It was my fault. My fault that my mother was gone.

"Don't blame your child, Wilnard. She's just a little girl, innocent and unaware. She has no part in your wife's death." Lina said.

"You're right, but the pain remains. That's why I want you to take her away from me for a while. Take my daughter away from this place, Lina." My father's words hurt me deeply.

"And where will I take her, Wilnard?"

"To the world of humans!"

"But I have a family, Wilnard. My son, Anthony, is still young and needs me." I thought the shocking revelations were over, but I was wrong.

I was stunned by what Lina said next. Anthony was her son? Van Anthony?

"Let me take care of your child, Lina." My father pleaded.

"But..."

"Please." My father was about to kneel when Lina stopped him.

"Alright, Wilnard, I'll take your daughter to the human world."

"Thank you so much, Lina. I will be forever grateful for your help."

"But I will also take your eldest."

"What? Why?" My father asked, confused.

"I don't want the child to grow up without any family around." Lina's words touched my heart, making me cry even more.

My father bowed his head. "You're right. Thank you, Lina, for helping me."

"I won't neglect your children, Wilnard. I hope you'll do the same for my child."

"You have my word." They hugged each other.

The hologram then showed my life in the human world with my brother and Lina.

The final part of the hologram displayed a document. It stated that on my brother's 21st birthday, he would return to the Telluric Kingdom, and on my 18th birthday, I would too.

The hologram abruptly ended, leaving me to process everything. I now knew what had happened since I was a child and understood the current situation. Despite having more questions, I set them aside for now. The place buzzed with noise as everyone, like me, had just learned the truth. I turned to my father, tears in my eyes as I saw him smiling with tears as well. I ran to him and hugged him.

"Daddy, I'm sorry," I sobbed. He hugged me tightly and kissed my head.

"It's not your fault." I pulled away and smiled at him.

I scanned the people near my dad, searching for someone, but he weren't there.

"Where is Kuya Zillian, Dad?"

"I heard my name." I turned to see who spoke. Tears flowed freely as I saw my brother.

"Kuya!" I ran to him and hugged him tightly.

"I miss you." He said, making me cry even more.

"I miss you too, Kuya. So much." He wiped my tears and kissed my cheek. "Don't cry too much."

We hugged again.

The celebration of my return continued. There was eating, dancing, and singing. Everyone was busy with their activities. I noticed Van looking at me and smiled. I walk towards him.

He pulled me into a tight hug.

"Welcome home, Baby," he said. He released me and kissed me on the cheek, right where my brother had kissed me. I rolled my eyes. Seriously?

"What's that look?" He asked.

"Seriously, Van? That was my brother."

"I know. But as I said, I won't allow anyone to kiss you. Even your brother."

"You're so mean!"

"I heard that, Anthony!" I turned around, hearing my brother's voice. Van just smiled and scratched his head. I tried to hold back my laughter. His face was too amusing.

A few moments later, some Tellurians approached to congratulate me. Judging by their attire, they held high ranks or positions here.

Minutes passed, and I felt a sudden urge. Nature's call. I excused myself from the people congratulating me and my dad, saying I needed to use the bathroom.

When I left the cubicle, I checked my face in the mirror. Satisfied, I walked out of the bathroom, nearly jumping in surprise when someone suddenly wrapped their arms around my waist.

"You took so long." He said and kissed my cheek.

This guy is getting too many kisses in. I wiped my cheek to annoy him, and he frowned, kissing it again. I wiped it again and smirked, irritating him more. He looked around before focusing back on me. He grabbed my wrist. I was shocked when he kissed me out of nowhere. He kissed me gently. I tried to pull away several times, but he didn't let me, holding me closer and tightening his grip on my waist. When he finally pulled away, we were both catching our breath. I looked around before glaring at him.

"What if someone sees us here?"

"I don't freakin' care, Zarianna. Wipe my kisses again, and I'll give you more than just a kiss." I blushed instantly.
