Chapter 11

“Where are we going?” Asks Troy for the 5th time.

“Beverly Hills.” I finally answer his question.

“What are we going to do there?” He asked again.

“Shopping.”

“Shopping?” I felt him staring at me.

“You need your own clothes. When my brother find out about this, I’m sure be dead.”

“So if they find out about this, I’m dead too?”

“Well....yes.” I said focusing on the road.

I put a CD on the player and push the play button. It played some random songs that I had on my iPod.

I was driving 80 kph. My car roof was down and the sun was up high out the blue sky. The wind is blowing my hair back. I was banned on driving for a month, because of the accident and I have to pay for over speeding too, same night but I got the bill after a few days and today is my first day to drive again. I take a quick glance at Troy and he appears to be irritated.

“Hey! What’s wrong?” I asked looking back on the road.

“I got something on my eyes.” He reply, trying to get something out of his eyes.

“Open the glove compartment and there’s a sunglass in there, wear it.” I commanded.

I heard the glove compartment open, then close. I look at him and his wearing my brother’s sunglasses, it suits him very well. I look back at the road and just listen to the song that currently playing.

Twenty minutes later two jeep overtake us. The first one is full of young boys, maybe just under 20 and the same as the other jeep in front of us that is full of girls. Most of them wearing a bikini top and very short denim skirt, some of them were some shorts, you can hardly tell the difference. Most of them have long blonde or brown hair; they’re probably going to the beach.

The girls were trying to get Troy’s attention but his attentions were somewhere else.

“What are they doing?” He then asked.

“They’re trying to get you attention. Maybe wink, smile or wave at them, that will do.” I said with a quick glance at him.

“Why would they want that anyway?”

“It’s just for fun Troy.” “Look at those beautiful girls trying to impress you.” I smiled at him.

“I’ll do does thing if they were beautiful as you.”

In the corner of my eyes I saw him looking at me. I was fluttered about what he said to me. He always does that, making my heart jump inside me out of control. I turn the volume of the car speakers’ up to cover my heart beating out of control.

The next fifteen minutes drive to Beverly Hills was quiet, but not awkward.

I turned left to the mall’s parking lot area and found a space on the second floor, and parked.

I turn off the engine; get my keys out from the ignition while Troy’s getting out and then I did the same.

We walked towards to the mall entrance that was connected to the parking area.

“Where are we?” Troy asked from behind me.

“We’re at the Beverly Center.” I slow down my pace so that Troy and I walk side by side now.

He looks around. “This place looks familiar.”

His words make me thinking; is he remembering something? I started thinking a few different scenarios. There is a possibility that we could face to face with his family. What am I going to do? That’s one of the many scenarios swirling around my head right now.

He then suddenly chuckle. “Oh I remember, in your magazine.” He chuckle again.

I blew a big sigh of relief, but still it makes me nervous that there’s a possibilities that his family weren’t far from here.

For three hours, I drag him to every men’s wear store I see and won’t come out until I brought something for him. I don’t really like spending money for myself, but I like spending money for someone else which is odd.

By lunch we’re eating at Pizza hut. In just three hours we’re now carrying 14 shopping bags.

“Isn’t this enough?” Troy asked across from me before taking a bite from his pizza.

“Yeah, I mean I guess so.” I said taking a sip from my drink.

“You guess?” Amuse Troy.

“We could always go shopping anytime we want to anyway.”

We finish our lunch and go. I pulled my car out from the parking space and drive. The drive home wasn’t awkward as I thought it would be. We talk a little at first and then we just both sing with the song for the rest of the drive.

I parked my car I front of the garage. It’s about 4:30-ish when we got back, Lenny and Molly already left. Troy almost carry all the bags, I only have two bags in my hand. I insert the key on the key hole, turn the knob around and push the door back. We both got in and Troy close the door behind him.

“Just leave the bags in the living room; we have to wash it first.” I said, walking to the living room and settling down the two bags I was holding beside the couch.

He then put the bags down beside to where I put mine.

“So what do you want to do now?” I asked sitting on the couch.

“I’ll take a nap, shopping worn me out.” He teases and start to walk upstairs.

I watch him walk upstairs and stayed on the couch for another minute. Then I decided to go to my room and change into my tank top and a short, I look around, and my room was spotless, I think it’s cleaner than before.

I grab my phone and iPod, and shove it each into my pocket before going downstairs. I went into the kitchen and grab a bottle of water before going out into the beach.

The soft sand gently rubs underneath my feet. I put my ear phone on and press play, some random songs gently play against my ear then I started walking to my right slowly.

Troy was a good company after all, I shouldn’t have wasted the weeks that I cried for a guy who love someone else, miserable from his lost, I should’ve use that time to get to know Troy and help him to go through his memory lost even he doesn’t know about it.

I walk a little further from my house. I saw a happy family having a good time. The dad, teaching his son how to swim, building a sandcastle together and the mom sitting under a beach umbrella cradling a cute and happy baby in her arms, that suddenly gives me an urge to hold the baby, since Nick propose to me I’ve been thinking about a baby name, how many were going to have...well how many I want to have.

The vibration in my pocket interrupt my baby thoughts. I grab it from my pocket, remove the right earphone out of my ear and answer with Hello.

“Hey honey! How are you?” My Mom asked from the other line, I hear my Dad say Hello to me in the background.

“Hey Mom! I’m good.” I reply and removing the other earphone in my ear.

“Glad to hear that honey.”

“So, you and Dad are in Thailand now?” I asked while sitting on the sand, facing the ocean.

“Yeah. Actually we just got here a few hours ago.” She said a little excited. “Will Lenny and Molly Visit you?”

“Well, they just left.” I said while my other hand grabbing a hand full of sand and let it slide back down back on the ground.

We talk on the phone nearly an hour, talking about her future grandchildren, two of my sister-in-law is due to this month. Now I want to have one.
