Chapter 20 - Troy and Alison

I was claimed back by my family, just nearly a week from now or 6 days to be exact. I learned that my real name was Alex and that I'm getting married tomorrow.

My memories were slowly coming back now, memories that once forgotten and left behind as I live my second life with Alison. My brother showed me the article he found in the internet featuring my accident. I was lucky to survive the accident as I saw how fatal it was.

Alison. Alison didn't even talk or say goodbye to me before she left, I just found out about it when Camille told me that she left with my brother. I broke her heart...and if i did, it took me 6 days to figure it out by her not wanting to talk to me. I've been calling her nonstop but she never answers it.

Tonight, I have a dinner rehearsal to focus on. Sitting around on a one big table with my family at one of the most luxurious restaurant in town.

They all happily chat and eat with everyone except for one, me. I just stared at my plate as more memories came flooding in my mind. Camille, my fiancée try to make a conversation with me but never succeed. But she's still trying though.

I was supposed to spend this week with Alison. We have so many things that we planned to do in New York but never had the chance to do it.

As we start the dinner rehearsal, my mind were somewhere else, I just pretend that I'm listening by clapping whenever everybody else was. Camille asked me 'what's wrong' a couple of time and I always answered her with 'nothing'.

The dinner rehearsal takes four hours to finish. We got back home pretty late. I was anxious to finally be alone so that I could try to call Alison until she answers it.

As soon as Camille fell asleep beside me, I sneak out of the house and out into the backyard. I settled on the edge of the pool soaking half of my legs into the heated pool water.

I called Alison more than 50 times, but there's no Alison's voice heard or even just her answering it and then hung up but the phone on the other lines just continue to ring.

After my 54th call and 54th times listening to her voice in her voice mail, and she still not answering it, I finally decide to stop and went to sleep.

The next morning my brother woke me up and told me to get ready for my wedding. After a few minutes I lazily followed his order, as him and my male cousins, Fred, Jack and Mike who are in their 30’s, help me to get ready.

After they finish helping me, they left me alone and told me to do anything that I needed to do before my wedding.

I decided to call Alison again, hoping that she’ll answer it. Her phone continues to ring and then switch on her voice mail over and over again as I redial her number.  Nearly half an hour of trying and there’s still no response from her. I just then decided to leave her a message saying….

“Hey Alison…it’s Alex, or your more familiar with Troy. I just wanted to say thank you…for everything and I’m sorry for just leaving you out there.” I sigh.

“Look I really wanted to talk to you…so can you please call me back b-bye.” I added after a long pause.

I waited for another ten minute for Alison to call me back before I heard the door of my room opens, then hearing my brother’s voice after.

“Hey bro! It’s time! Let’s go.” He said, sort of whispering it.

“Okay.” I said, putting down the phone on the dresser before following Neil out from the house.

Neil led me to a limo outside the house which is waiting for us. He let me in first before himself. The limo contains all the boys in the family.

The whole drive to the church which is filled with conversation talking about my wedding and other details which I haven’t remembered yet.

As we went inside of the church which are filled with voices of people chatting to one another. I felt a light tap on my shoulder, I turn around and saw who it was, it was my dad and crooked his head, a sign for me to follow him.

He led me in front of the altar and told me to stay there, and wait for the bride. They told me how our wedding ceremony would go but I’m king of having a second thought on this. I’m worried about Alison, because Camille told me that she invited her to ‘our’ wedding and the last time that happened…not really good.

As then the whole church become quiet and people start to stand up one by one. After that the wedding march started playing slowly and smoothly as the groomsmen and the bridesmaid started walking down the aisle; then the best man and the maid of honour walk down next, side by side. After them they were followed by the ring bearer, then the flower girl and lastly followed by the bride and her father.

Camille soon started walking down the aisle with her left arm link with her father’s right, but the person that I saw is Alison. I was even fooled by my own imagination and smiled happily at her as she did the same. She shyly walk down the aisle as I gaze at her beautiful face as she look directly at me.

The wedding march song slowly faded away in the background and Alison is now standing in front of me and as the reality kick the vision of her away so that’s now I was facing Camille with a big smile painted on her face as well as her father who’s standing beside her.

Her dad patted me on my shoulder and said. “She’s all yours my boy. Make her happy.” Then he walks to his wife and stand beside her.

I swallowed quietly and look at Camille who’s smiling from ear to ear. Is this what I want, now? Well it was before then, but now? After what happened to me just a few months ago. She slightly raises her hand, indicating me to hold it and walk her to the altar.

I hesitantly stare at her hand, thinking about what will happen to me when I marry her. Hesitant but I take and hold her hand gently with mine and she give me a sweet lovely smile.

I cry harder on my pillow after hearing his voice at the voice mail that he just left to me five minutes ago; his voice was low and full of sorrow. His been calling me non-stop this week. Every time, and each time my phone rings, I desperately want to answer it but I stop myself from doing it because I know that I won’t be able to even speak a word to him ‘cause I’m trying not to cry, and it’s for our own good too. His getting married…today and I’m leaving tomorrow. After meeting Troy’s family and fiancée, I quickly get in at the next flight back to L.A. and accepted my parents’ gift to me and decide to live in Paris and open another club of mine there. I’m going to miss my house.

I lazily remove myself out of my bed, wipe the tears away and decide to pack my things, and clean up the house. I pack my things first before cleaning up the whole house. I’m standing at the kitchen looking for something to clean and my eyes landed on my phone lying on the counter, like its waiting for me to call someone.

I pick it up and stare at it for a second before I dialled Troy’s number. I listen to it as it rings and waited for Troy to answer it but it just continuously ring, so I stop and put it back down the counter. A few seconds later my phone rings and I hurriedly answer it.

“Troy.” I said loudly, hoping that I’m right.

“Hey Ali! It’s Lenny.” The voice on the other line said.

“Oh.” I replied back, disappointed that it’s not Troy.

Lenny started talking and insisted that hem and Molly will take me to the airport but I said that I’ll just ride on a cab, but he never give up and convince me more until I just have to agree to him.

Paris will be a fresh start for me…miles away from  what happened here.
