Chapter 19
Neil picks us up about 10 in the morning. I sit at the back while Troy sits at the front with Neil.
The whole drive was filled with Neil's voice, helping Troy to remember some few basic things about his family while I take my mind out of the car. Sometimes I caught Troy looking at me while Neil talk continuously, I gave him a quick glance and a weak smile before I look away.
As the car slow down, the trees were now able to see clearly and then the car stops in front of a big beautiful house, vanes were creeping up on the front walls.
"Where here!" Neil yelled happily.
He stop the engine and get out of the car and Troy did the same, while I just stayed inside of the car, not ready to come out yet. This is it! This is the last time that I'm going to see him.
I heard a knock on the window and saw Neil, signalling me to scroll down the window but instead scrolling the window down I open the door and get out of the car.
"Hey! I forget to ask what's your name last night. I'm such a forgetful person." He chuckle timidly.
"Alison." I said, smiling lightly at him.
"Alison." He repeated. "Okay then, let's go. They're probably waiting for us.
Neil carried Troy's bag and walk towards the front door; he then put the bag down and ready to open the door when it suddenly flung open, and we were greeted by an old couple. They were probably in their 50's.
"Alex!" The lady happily screamed, ready to hug Troy. Must be Troy's mom or should I say Alex.
"Easy there mom, he doesn't quite know you." Neil put his hands up to stop his mom.
"Sorry! But I really miss him." She apologizes, but the excitement in her voice was still visible.
"Come on in!" She invited us in, moving away from the door pulling her husband with her.
We all followed her instruction and come in. Neil suddenly disappear in the staircase while Troy and I were being asked by the old couple to follow them in their living room.
The lady then turn around and look at us with a smile on her face.
"Hello! I'm Anne, Alex's mom." She offered her hand to shake mine, and I shake it. "And this is John, His dad and my husband." She said pointing to the old man beside her, who's giving us a warm and welcoming smile.
"Hi! I'm Alison."
"Nice to meet you Alison." Anne said giving me a huge grin.
"Nice to meet you too ma'am." I said, mirroring her grin.
"Take a sit." John said while him and Anne where sitting on the other couch across from us.
Troy and I were sitting on the couch; Neil then appeared and sits on the single chair.
"We're are the others?" Neil asked his parents.
"They're just coming." Anne answered. "We're going to celebrate when they got here." She cheered loudly for an old lady like her.
"You should have met Alison." They both nodded. "She's the one who's taking care of Alex after the accident..." He trailed off, giving me the cue to take over.
I told them everything they needed to know about Troy's condition as I carefully not to say Troy instead of Alex, although I told them about it. I told them about how his life like living with me for the past four months or so and everything else except for one thing, the thing between Troy and I had if we really had one though.
