Oh the things you learn in Hellgate...

One thing is that people live for the show, in pain, victorious or at loss, put on a show. They crave the entertainment. Hell must be empty, as all the devils are here. I've been stuck here for just over a year, I'm seventeen now and I miss my best friend. Kaz and I have been close since the moment we met, I was with him during the time of his brother's passing. Jordie was a good friend, for the short time that I knew him. It killed me, but not as much as him. Kaz had never been the same after that, we still had our 'fun' though. Kaz and I have always been a pair of trouble makers.

My head tilted to the sound of footsteps slowly approaching my cell, I jumped up at the bars and snarled. Only the bars seemed to keep him safe from my pale white self, he laughed at me. "Fiesty today? Good," he grabbed my arm and practically dragged me to the arena. I was about to face a wolf, a panther and a venomous snake.

Before I even stepped into the arena I could hear the crowd, with much effort I tried to drown it out when I stepped in. I only listened for anything about the Barrel or about anyone in the Dregs. A few sharp weapons laid around, an axe, a bow on the wall and a few arrows had been thrown out onto the sand. I was the 'favourite' here, which meant I was given extra things to make sure I lasted another fight. Like I needed them anyway, my strength, speed and nails were already my weapons but it didn't hurt to fight with actual weapons.

They released the panther and wolf first. They circled around me twice, I grabbed the axe from infront of me and charged. The first attack by the panther I dodged by stepping to the side before it hit the wall, the second I had to bend back as the wolf jumped over my before turning back to me quickly making me have to leap up. It charged at me again when I landed, I cut off one of its front legs with the axe as it ran past me. It howled as its leg hit the sand.

Then the snake was released. The panther, having recovered from its head injury, came charging at me. It clawed my shoulder giving me the chance to stab it in the chest with the axe. Death took to it instantly. Now I faced the wolf and snake. Despite of its missing leg, the wolf sprinted at me before I got chance to stand up.

Blood dripped onto my chest as it stood on top of me. I gripped hold of the wolf's nozle and front leg with each hand. I applied a hard amount of pressure onto its jaw and broke it. I let go of its jaw and wrapped both my hands round its leg. As I stood up the snake bit my ankle before slithering away, I was immune to its poison so it was pointless of it being in here. I flung the wolf against the wall and as it was already weak from the bloodloss it died as it hit the wall.

My grey eyes scanned for that horrid snake, they landed on it in the corner. It slithered quickly towards me, I did a front handspring grasping it's thin scaly body in my hands when they touched the floor. I dug my nails into it and watched as the life drained from its body. Having been victorious, the announcer dropped back down and lifted my arm. The crowd praised my victory. The announcer dropped my hand again and handcuffed me. He dragged me to my cell, unlocked my handcuffs and locked me in the cell. I hated being trapped. Ever since I got locked here at Hellgate, I've developed a serious fear of being trapped and I've become very claustrophobic. But I had a plan to get out. I had been planning it in my head for the past week. I just hoped it would work.

The day pushed on, I put my plan into action. I was escaping tonight. After a long week of planning, I was going to be free. I put a hand on one of my knee the other on a bar of the cell. I called for help said I was poisoned by the snake. Of course he came to cell doors. Without a resit I shot my arms through the bars and dug my snails into his neck and shredded his neck. I then snapped it letting his body drop to the floor. I crouched down and reached for the keys and unlocked the door before looking up at what I would face. Instead I saw him. Kaz Brekker. He looked shocked. It was a mix between seeing me and what I just did. Was my brain messing with me again though? I didn't know. I brain often pictured him stood outside my cell, sometimes unlocking it other times he was inside it with me. 'Kaz?' I often mumbled but it turned out it was always one of the guards coming to get me for a fight. "Kaz?"
