"YOU IMPRINTED ON MY NIECE"
THIS IS WHY WE DON'T ENTRUST PLANS TO MUPPET BABIES
NATALIE SHOT UP IN BED, her body covered in sweat as she looked around the room. Josie was sound asleep in the bed across the room and Natalie instantly relaxed as she realized that what had occurred was nothing more than a dream. However, it was a dream that had felt more real than any other dream she had.She looked out of the window near her room and saw that it was still dark outside. She fell back in bed, staring up at the ceiling as she tried to focus on something rather than the nightmare that had just occurred.
Josie turned over loudly in her bed before flipping over again. Natalie sat up and looked over at Josie wondering if she was having a bad dream as well.
"Jo," Natalie whisper yelled, but there was no response.
Natalie sighed as she climbed out of bed and made her way over to Josie, reaching over to shake her best friend, "Josie, wake up, you're having a bad dream."
Natalie rolled her eyes and began shaking Josie a little harder, "Jo-"
Josie's hand reaches up and grabbed Natalie's wrist, squeezing tightly as she felt Josie siphoning a lot of magic from her. When she looked up, Josie's eyes were open, but they weren't the brown eyes that Natalie had known all her life. They were dark, black.
Natalie yanked her arm away from Josie, stumbling backward and bumping into her bed. The noise startles Josie awake who reaches over and turns on the lamp beside her bed as she looks at Natalie, the hybrid sitting on the ground, her chest rising and falling rapidly. Josie immediately registers the fear in Natalie's eyes and jumps out of bed, rushing to Natalie's side.
"Nat, are you okay?" Josie asks, eyes scanning over her.
"I'm fine," Natalie says, shaking her head, "I just had a bad dream. I thought you were having one too and I tried to wake you up but..."
Natalie trails off as she looks down at her wrist, there's a black mark there in the shape of Josie's fingers. Natalie looks up to find Josie staring at the mark, "Did I do that?"
"No," Natalie says shaking her head, but Josie knows her too well. She knows when she's lying.
"Nat, I'm so sorry," Josie tells her.
"It's fine," Natalie reassures her, "We've been through worse, like when you pushed me off the monkey bars that one time and I fell to my death."
Josie breathes out a laugh, "You fell like three feet."
"It felt further," Natalie says before laughing. The moment is over as quickly as it began, both girls aware that they had issues they needed to deal with.
"Same dream?" Josie asks and Natalie nods her head.
"I don't know why," Natalie breathes out, "It's like someone or something wants to turn me against Hope."
