"I'VE BEEN WAITING TO MEET YOU"
LIFE WAS SO MUCH EASIER WHEN I ONLY CARED ABOUT MYSELF

HOPE HADN'T LEFT HER ROOM IN DAYS, which meant that whatever happened between Natalie and Hope, it didn't end well

HOPE HADN'T LEFT HER ROOM IN DAYS, which meant that whatever happened between Natalie and Hope, it didn't end well. There had been several attacks in the surrounding area of Mystic Falls, but none in the city. Everyone knew it was Natalie, but no one said anything. Even Matt Donavan kept his mouth shut on the situation.

Kai looked around the room Josie shared with Natalie, well formerly shared with her. He had free reign over the school as long as he didn't harass any of the students. It wasn't the youth at the Salvatore School that interested him, but its upperclassmen.

The walls of the room were painted blue and on it was covered in pictures of Josie and Natalie. Photos from when they were children dating all the way to the present. The girls were obviously close. The way that you couldn't tell which side was Josie's and which side was Natalie's was evidence of that.

He heard footsteps in the hall and Josie stepped into the room before jumping slightly at his presence.

"Hiya!" he greets before motioning around the room, "Nice place you got here."

Josie eyed him skeptically, "Thanks."

"Which side of the room is yours?" Kai asks.

"That one," Josie says pointing to the right. He nods as he looks over at Natalie's side of the room. He picks up a painting, knowing immediately who it was of and who had given it to her. He sets it down and turns to Josie.

"You broke the sandclock."

"Yeah, and?" Josie asks him.

Kai shrugs, "You've been pretty normal. Or you're pretending to be."

"I have no idea what you're talking about," Josie says as she walks toward her wardrobe. She opens the doors, but Kai closes them with a simple wave of his hand, Josie huffs and turns around to face him.

"Look I don't have much experience being an uncle, other than trying to kill you, but I know something isn't right in that head of yours, Josie," Kai tilts his head, "Talk to me."

"Why should I?" Josie crosses her arms over her chest, "You took my mom from me."

"You never even knew Jo."

"Whose fault is that?" Josie asks him.

Kai sighs, "Fine, I'm sorry you never met your mother. She was smart and kind and good. She was everything that I wasn't. There, I spilled, now you spill."

"I'm not talking to you," Josie states as she heads toward the door.

"That dark magic is eating you from the inside out," Kai chuckles, "You're trying so hard to fight it, but you can't. Let's be real Josie, you need my help."
