Dear, Wife.

I imagined I would write more about my triumph and those who asked after you on Progress, but one week out of London, there is a blade stuck in my flesh, by a  York named Francis Lovell. I imagine I have you to thank for that so you will be irked to hear that despite your best endeavours, your husband and the father of your unborn child, still breathes. Your Mothers signature is over this with yours and if she were here with me, I can tell you that she would not be returned to you alive. But happily my mother had the good sense to leave her locked up there in Westminster.

Your Husband Henry.

I read the letter and stood up finding out the reason I had not heard from my mother.

"Mother is not with him. She's here." i told them, I noticed the look between Cecily and Maggie. "You both knew?"

"There's sickness." Maggie informed me "It's the reason we didn't tell you. We didn't want you or the baby getting ill." I dropped the letter and stormed out of my room.

"Hope, you're not supposed to be out here." Cecily scolded

"Shut up Cecily. I'm older than you, wiser than you and the Queen. Lizzie." she took my hand. The halls were empty.

"How bad is it?" Lizzie wondered "How bad?" she asked again

"People are dying." Maggie admitted "Everyone's afraid."

"That's why you haven't seen the serving girl, she's dead." Cecily added

"Mother? And the girls?" I ask

"They're safe. They're locked up here." Cecily replied

"Has anyone sent help out to the people?" None of them replied and I sighed moving past them taking my twin with me.

"Hope, Lizzie, where are you going?" Maggie wondered following behind us

"To do what someone should have done already. My people are dying and no one is trying to help them, easing there sorrows. It's a disgrace." I went to the  treasury two guards stood there protecting it.

"The people need provisions such as food and burials. They also need Physicians. Unlock the treasure room." I order "Who has the key?"

"I do." I turned to see Bishop Morton "As his Grace's Chancellor."

"Then open it." I order

"Madam, you risk your child's life and your own from straying."

"I swear to God if you talk down to me one more time, I will not be held accountable for my actions. Now either you give me the key or I will order them to kick it down" he did not relent "Fine, kick down." I order the guards

"They will no no such..."

"What?" I ignored the Bishop "You would rather your families die of plague cause you were too afraid to take my orders. Break it open!"

"Madam." I turned sharply to the Bishop

"Test my patience with another word from your lips I dare you." I warned him "If the King were here he would order the same. Open it." The put their spears to one sideband started to kick the door.

"Stop! Stop this is robbery and treason." Bishop Morton protested

"Oh be quiet old man." I scoff

"Kick it! Kick it! Kick it!" Teddy cheered as he was pulled back by his sister. Another guard came forward

"Stand back." He started to break the lock off

"Stop!" The lock was finally broken off and I smiled sightly

"Blessed are the merciful for they will be shown mercy" I quoted as the doors were opened

"Though shall not steal. And this gold is the Kings." Morton retorted

"It is our royal duty to provide and protect. As you well know since you served on my fathers council. I also know that as wife to the King and as Queen I am well within my right to take steps to protect my people should the King be indisposed." I retort, my father taught me well.

"You are not crowned Queen and have no jurisdiction."

"You've miss read your laws old man, so unless you plan to hold me down. I will do it." I entered and opened a chest. I handed some bags to my sister and cousin.

"Take this out to the sick. Watch them safely from a carriage but be sure the people get what they need." Lizzie and Maggie nodded leaving with Teddy.

"This will not go unpunished." Morton retorted

"Where is my mother?" I questioned "She is locked in this palace and you will tell me where or I will push the child from my body right here, and we shall bleed to death. It will be all your fault."

"Only a daemon would harm a child."

"Look me in the eyes and see if I'm bluffing. Am I, Bishop?" I glared at him and he searched my eyes.

"You are just like your mother. God will judge you for your sin."

"No, I'm worse when crossed. Now bring me my mother or I will give my husband a reason to have your head." I shoved past him
