Chapter Ten: BloodShead

ROYAL'S POV~

I feel sick, like I'm doing something wrong.  

"Eta this is the second time we need to stop. Remember what happened last time!?"

I see her shoulder blades set. She was in killer mode, there was no way of changing her mind and going back. She lifts up her mace, ready for attack. I hear some voices behind the trees. I hear the clank of weapons, then quiet.

The tributes burst out of the trees with a cry. I pull out my sword and decapitate the boy. I put my sword back in it's sheath. I watch Eta attack the other boy with the force of an ox. With one swing the boy falls dead. I hear the canon, and another war cry.  

Another boy?! I turn around as the tribute jumps onto me. Eta turns around panting hard. Seeing that I'm pinned to the ground, she give out cry and runs over. The boy turns and troughs a knife at her arm, hitting her near the elbow. She stops to pull out the knife, running up she slits the boys throat. Panting she walks over to help me off the ground. She winces in pain when she reaches out her hurt arm. Quickly pulling it back in she reaches out her other arm instead. I'm a little spaced once I get up. We slowly but surly make it back to camp without getting attacked by anyone.

I grimace. "it wasn't the best day for careers."

"who cares!? I know I don't!" she laughs. Sometimes i love her, sometimes I want to push her off a airplane. I follow her into the forest.

"do you hear that?" I whisper. We had gotten Pretty deep into the woods. She nods and turns to face me, she has a giant goofy grin on her face.

"I think it's Iveris and Sean."

"so just more tributes." I answer back. What? Its not like there the couple to beat, if anything me and Eta are!

"well if we get them out of the way this will be so much easier!" she readies her weapon, I slowly put up mine.

Thunk.  

An arrow hits a tree near Eta. Thunk. Another nearer.  

Thunk.  

The arrow lands right above Eta's head. I hear yet another arrow aiming straight at her heart. I close my eyes, it's to much for me to bear. I hear no cannon. I open my eyes. I see Eta standing with the arrow two inches away from her heart. I gasp. This is bad for whoever shot that arrow. She snaps it in half. It was going to chaos for who ever shot that. A girl about 14 burst from the trees, I think it's the tribute from 7. I ready my weapon.

Two other tributes come out of the trees. This is bad and good, it the two love birds from 4, Iveris an Sean, they were very skilled with their weapon of chose. I see Eta's eyes widen with excitement. She finally gets a chance to try to kill them. The 7 girl ready's her bow, she lets an arrow lose. I move to my left, the arrow grazes my shoulder. I cry out in pain. I see a look of triumphant in the girls eyes. I glare at her. Its silent for a moment, I lurch forward. Eta spins her mace round and round creating a distraction for me. I swing my sword at the girls arm. It slices deep. She screams. I grin wolfishly. I let my killer out.

I give out a cry at attack again, she lets her guard down for just a second. I see it and slice at her stomach. It gashes a deep opening in her stomach. She falls. I stand over her. She twitches, blood poring out of her arm and belly. She finally stops, I hear a canon. I see Eta swinging. She hits Iveris in the leg, Iveris screams, my eardrums nearly burst. Eta stops and looks at me, I see blood seeping down her forehead. She looks as if she is going to pass out. I rush to her side, but I'm to late, Sean swings his axe and Eta falls. Everything is in slow motion. I hear the canon go off. I scream. I look up at Sean and Iveris. Tears streaming from my eyes.

"GO!" I cry. "LEAVE!" Iveris reaches forward wanting to help but Sean pulls her back. They disappear behinds the trees. I sob. For who knows how long. I just lay there with Eta, never wanting to leave her side.

IVERIS'S POV~

"Sean! Wait what about Hazel!?" I sob.

"We have to go Iveris, she's dead now there is nothing we can do! There is a very large career back there with his dead... Girlfriend, and he might be really angry!" he counters. I wipe my tears and follow after Sean.

My eye sight starts to blur, my stupid wound! I forgot about it. "Iveris, stay with me!" Sean realizes whats going on. He sets me on the ground. He takes his shirt off. I smile faintly. He raps the shirt around my leg. Having the pressure feels better. He bends down to pick me up. Pain jolts my leg, like millions of sharp jagged knifes. Everything goes black.

SEAN'S POV~

I see her pass out. "stay with me Iveris, please!" I cry. "please..."
