Her head was dangling off the couch, feet popped up on the wall. The blood rush caused her face to be bright red.
"So, Flynn could see you?"
"Yep." She had hair in her mouth.
"While we were playing?"
"Also correct" She got the stray hair!
"Did anybody else see you? Was it only during our performance?"
"Not that I've noticed and nope, pretty sure Flynn heard me say goodbye."
This interrogation had been going on for a bit. Luke and Reggie were asking the same questions repeatedly. She sat up, feeling slightly dizzy. "Now you two are the ones preparing for the runway. Why are you so worried about it? We won't figure it out now, even if I keep retelling the story."
Luke came to a halt, causing Reggie to crash into him.
"Because we're talking about you here!" A silence filled the room. Luke and Mo just looked at each other for a while, neither of them breaking it off. "Okay."
"Luke is right, this band would be nothing without you. A-and we know we can get a little protective, but that's just because we care about you so much. But apparently, you must have a connection with Julie and Flynn somehow. A connection that the boys and I only have to Julie."
"I get that." Luke sat on a chair next to Mo, avoiding eye contact with her. "Now, I would really appreciate it if we could drop the topic. It makes me worry too much."
The now awkward silence continued. Well, it wasn't weird for Reggie. Mo couldn't tell you why she thought it was awkward. Maybe it was because Luke obviously tried to avoid her, or maybe it was her anxiety. She did feel very anxious now. She didn't like loud outbursts, they made her feel like they were fighting, even though she knew they weren't.
"I'm gonna go to the Molina's, get to know them. Maybe they're doing something more fun..." Reggie told the others, poofing out.
Silence. Luke shifted in his seat, Mo was looking at her hands, adjusting her rings.
For what felt like hours nobody said a thing.
"You look good in my shirt."
Mo could feel his eyes on her. "Oh sorry, I didn't even ask you this morning. I- I uh thought you wouldn't mind." She looked over at him.
"It's okay, looks better on you anyway." He chuckled. For the second time that afternoon, they didn't break their eye contact.
"Is this a staring contest Luke?" the girl said, leaning closer to him. He only smirked, mimicking her action "Oh, it's on Patterson!"
His eyes were a mixture between green and hazel, the colours mixing gracefully making them warm and welcoming. Even if Luke tried to hide his emotions, his eyes always spilled. Mo could stare at them forever, if she could drown in them, she totally would. Her heart was beating fast, he had that effect on her.
