Skylar's POV

I curled my hair and put on a soft yellow dress and added light eyeliner. I wanted this dinner to be perfect. I couldn't wait for alone time with Xander. Smiling at my reflection, I deemed myself dinner ready. Slipping on a pair of white flats, I walked out of my room, closing the door behind me softly.
On the coat hanger by the door was the perfect jacket. It was a white denim jacket I had gotten for Christmas and it went with my dress wonderfully.

"You look beautiful, sweetie," my mom said, coming to stand beside me.

"Thanks, mom," I grinned.

"When will he be here?"

"Uh," I glanced at my phone, "Xander should be here any minute."

"Well, I hope you have fun and be home by ten," she instructed, pulling me in for a hug.

"Will do, where's dad?" I asked as we embraced.

We pulled apart and she rolled her eyes, "He said something about taking Colby to a game, I'm really not all that sure. Guy stuff, ya know?"

I smiled and shook my head. "Oh I know."

The doorbell rang and my heart sped up.

"Is that him?" she asked giddily.

"Sure is!" I chirped.

I grabbed my bag and went to the door but she grabbed my arm to stop me.

"Can I just-"

I already knew what she wanted, she wanted to meet him. I rolled my eyes and shook my head.

"You'll have your chance."

She groaned and stomped childishly. "Fine."

I chuckled and kissed her cheek. "Bye, mom. Love you!"

I rushed towards the door, flinging it open before she could respond and dashing into the night air. I was moving so quickly I bumped into a hard chest.

"Oomph."

I stumbled backwards but rough hands steadied me. I looked up expecting to say thanks to Xander but instead, there stood my second mate, Xavier.

"Uh, thank you. I uh, I thought Xander was coming?" I asked in confusion.

I wasn't dissapointed by any means but I was confused. Xander and I had a dinner date. Did something happen?

"No, I'm picking you up," he said, releasing me.

"But I thought Xander was the one I had a date with?"

"You do. It's also a dinner date with me," he stated, turning to walk towards his mustang.

"What happened to the whole not sharing thing?" I questioned, following him.

"We aren't sharing but the dinner is also with our parents."

I stopped dead in my tracks and my jaw dropped. Dinner with their parents?! Oh God, no. I can't do this. Nope. I can't. Oh God oh God.

"Skylar, are you coming?" he gestured to the passenger door he had just opened.

My mouth was too dry to speak. I shook my head and stepped backwards to my home. He sighed and pushed the door shut.

"Skylar, are you okay?"

I just shook my head again and backed up another step.

He advanced towards me and within long strides he was standing in front of me.
