Caught Between Twin Alphas

Two Days

Xander's POV

I gently scooped Skylar's sleeping form in my arms and carried her outside to my car. I deposited her softly in to the backseat and draped a blanket over her before shutting the door.

"She really is beautiful."

I knew that Xavier was standing behind me, admiring my mate through the window of the car, much like I was. Correction, our mate.

I sighed."What are we going to do?"

"Simple. We tell her she is also my mate."

"What if that scares her? What if that is too overwhelming?" I questioned, turning to face him. The second I said that, he glared at me.

"She's my mate, too! I have a right to be with my mate!" he growled.

"She's mine as well!" I matched his growl with one of my own.

I wasn't letting Xavier just take her. She is mine.

My brother growled and stepped towards me. I noticed his eyes darkening. "You will not deny me of my mate!"

"Who says I was denying? Why don't we give her some time and then tell her," I suggested.

He glanced at Skylar then back at me. "Fine. Two days."

"Two days? That isn't enough time!"

He didn't respond. Instead he started walking away. "Two days, Xander ."

I went to respond but quickly decided against it. It was almost dark and I had to get Skylar home. I jumped in the drivers side and looked at her in the rearview mirror. She really is beautiful.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't scared of Xavier taking her from me. He would do it, too. The mate bond is much more powerful than family. He would probably even kill me if I stood in his way. But it was a risk I was going to take. I would do the exact same to him if he tried to take Skylar. She's my mate and I'm not giving her up without a fight.

Xavier'sPOV

He can't deny me of my mate! My wolf wanted his mate, now. I can't stand the thought of my mate not knowing me. I want to touch her, hold her, kiss her, love her. I sighed. Walking inside the pack house, I saw a familiar blonde head. Great,just what I need today.

"Xavier!" she squealed out, following me down the hall.

Let's just get this over with. I turned around to face her. "What do you want Kenna?"

I had a headache from all of the drama. My mate was so close but just out of reach and she didn't even know about me! What right does Xander think he has to keep her from me? She's just as much mine as she is his!

Kenna snaked her arms around my neck and squeezed me. "You didn't call me his morning," she muttered.

Now that I've found my mate it's hard to think of anyone but Skylar. I unlatched Kenna's arms from my neck and pushed her away before turning to walk off.

Kenna was now irrelevant. All that matters is Skylar.

"Baby! Baby! What's wrong?" she called after me.

I just shook my head and walked away.

Skylar'sPOV

When I woke up again, my head didn't hurt and I wasn't in that room. Instead I was in my bed. I looked around the room in confusion. HowdidIgethere?

I saw my phone on my beside table and saw where I had a new text message.

Hey Skylar, if you're reading this you must be up. Glad you feel better. Text me when you get this. Sorry for being nosy but I checked your phone to get your number. xoxo

I smiled and quickly typed a reply.

I'm awake now and my head feels a lot better! Thanks for bringing meback home. I appreciateit.:)

It wasn't even a minute later when my phone beeped signalling I had a new message.

I was wondering, would you like to go out with me sometime?

I started squealing and smiling like an idiot. My hot mate wants to go on a date with me. My wolf was howling with glee and I giddily typed a reply.

Sure! When?

Tomorrow night. 7 oclock. I'll pick you up.:-)

It briefly occured to me how he knew where I lived but honestly, right now that was the least of my concerns. I have a date with Xander.

I dropped my phone back on my bedside table and sprung up from bed and dashed to my closet. I quickly started looking through my closet for something to wear.

Xander's POV

I smiled thinking about the date have planned for Skylar. I sighed happily.

Two days, brother. Xavier said over our mind link.

Groaning, I shut off our mind link.  I rubbed my temples. Fate just has to be so cruel. Two days until I have to tell Skylar and risk the chance of losing her to my brother.
