Meeting My Mate

Skylar's POV

Before I knew it, it was lunch. I made my way through the crowded halls to the lunch room. I had just entered the cafeteria when I heard someone calling my name. I turned around to see Cole Benson running towards me.

"Hey, Sky!" he greeted cheerfully.

"Hey, Cole," I replied with a smile.

I've known Cole forever. His dad is my dad's beta and Cole will be my brother's beta. My parents have been trying to push Cole and I together for ages. Don't get me wrong, Cole was very attractive and a real sweetheart, but we were better off as friends and we obviously weren't mates. My dad would be over the moon if we were but we weren't.

"How've you been?" he asked.

"Pretty good, my mom called me a wanna be April Washing Machine earlier," I told him.

He rolled his eyes and shook his head. "She meant Avril Lavigne, right?"

"Yup."

We started down the lunch line and he was telling me about soccer. Suddenly, this heavenly scent filled my nostrils. My mate's scent. I turned and began to look around for him but didn't see anyone behind me.

"Hey, Cole, I hate to cut this short but I uh, forgot something in my locker," I told him.

"Want me to save you a spot?" he offered.

"Yes please," I shot him a grateful smile and darted off, following the scent.

Xander's POV

Lunch couldn't come soon enough, the second the teacher said we could leave, I made a dash for the door. I rushed to the cafeteria and that's when I saw her. My beautiful mate. She was standing beside and talking to some boy. I growled lowly. I wanted nothing more but to run up and claim her right then and there but I knew that wasn't a good idea.

I could only see her back and even her back was stunning. Her long blonde hair had pink in it towards the bottom. I smiled to myself.

I had to calm down before I officially met her, the last thing I wanted was to make a bad impression and have her reject me.

I walked back into the empty halls and sat down on the floor but then I smelt her scent, it was getting closer and closer.

'She's looking for us!' my wolf howled in glee.

She turned the corner and our eyes locked.

Skylar's POV

I turned down another hallway and that's when I saw him. The most gorgeous guy on the planet! He had dark, slightly spiked hair. He was sitting on the floor but I could tell he was tall.
 Our eyes met and that's when I saw his beautiful electric blue eyes that I could get lost in.
 Neither of us looked away and both stayed frozen in our spots. I was snapped out of my trance when he stood up. I was pretty tall for a girl, I was 5'7 but he towered over me. He was taller than my brother and my brother was 6'2.

"I'm Alexander. Everyone calls me Xander, though,"he said with a smile.

Oh my God what a hot name for a hot guy. He chuckled. Wait, did I say that out loud?

"Yes, you did," he told me with a smirk.

I felt my face turn bright red.

"I-I'm Skylar."

"It's a pleasure to meet you Skylar," he said, taking my hand and kissing it.

I felt my cheeks turn an even brighter red, I didn't even know that was possible!
