I laid down on my couch. My laptop lay firmly in my lap as I went to town on my keyboard, looking for a job. It had been six months since I had been "let go," from my last job. It was all because I could't do some things for my boss. Even though I am recovered from my childhood illnesses, doesn't mean it wont spark up again. There are some things I cannot do in fear that I could become sick again. That is the reason I was fired from my last job.

I never went to college, so there weren't many jobs for me to apply for. Where I live, you either have to give an arm or a leg to get a job, or have a masters degree in a field. Every place I looked, I was either not interested, or didn't qualify.

Banker wanted, Store clerk wanted, Cashier wanted. They all didn't stick out like I really wanted, but hey, who goes for the job they actually like these days, anyway? Rolling my eyes, I noticed a job that stuck out to me.

Waiter wanted for Hamburger Mary's Bar & Grille. Biting my lip, I looked at where they were located. Just three mile from here. I started to fill out the online application, then I remembered that it would be more likely to get the job if I fill it out in person.

When I arrived at Hamburger Mary's, I went straight to the "Help Wanted" sign and grabbed it from the door, taking it in with me.

"What can I help you with, darling?" A man said from behind the counter I was walking towards. I showed him the sign and he took me to the manager's office.

After I filled out the application, I went and sat at the bar. I ordered a small glass of water and a well done burger. Suddenly, I heard the guy form behind the counter shout, " Hey, Jamie's here guys!" I didn't bother to look because I didn't even know this person. Although, I did listen in on their conversation as I waited for my food to come out.

"Hey Rett! I just thought I would stop in here for a quick drink." Jamie said.

"I haven't seen you since you quit a few weeks ago! How has Kriss been?"

"He's good I guess. He's cheating on me. I have found a few condom wrappers and pictures of some guy on his cell phone. Oh well! Anyway, I noticed that the help wanted sigh was taken down. Who got my old position?"

"This guy right here," Rett said. I then felt a hand on my back, startling me.

"Well, hiya!" Jamie said. I turned around to see a short guy, about it his mid twenties. His shirt was stained with, what seemed to be, coffee. His hair was midnight blue, obviously dyed, which matched his eyes beautifully. He had a tattoo of, what looked like, a heart on his upper right arm.

"Like what you see?" He asked, signalling to me that I had been staring for an unneeded amount of time.

"Uh.. sorry." I stuttered out.

'It's alright! What's you're name?"

"C-Carmin," I stuttered out.

"That's such a girly name, but who am I to judge? I'm Jamie!"

"Hey," I said, putting my hand forward for him to shake. He declined it. Instead, he pulled me out of my chair and into a hug.

"I am a hugging type of person." He said when he let go of me. Smiling a little, I sat back down and began to eat my food that was finally placed.

"Anyway, I came here for a drink didn't I? Rett, what is the special wine for today?"

"Scuppernong."

"I'll have that then! Would you like a glass Carmin? I'll pay for it." Jamie asked me.

"I-I'm only twenty."

"So? Rett, nor I, will tell anyone if you have a glass or two." Biting my lip, I nodded.

"Only half a glass though." Rett then took out two wine glasses and poured us both some. Taking the glass, I sipped a little of the liquid. I felt the cool beverage enter my mouth and slide down my esophagus. It was a change from milk and water. I liked it.

"Good, isn't it?" Jamie asked, gulping down his half glass and then asking for more.

Once I had finished my meal, I paid and started out. Jamie and I hit it off real well. He was a nice guy and hoped I got the job.

As I was unlocking my car, I felt a hand on my back. I turned around to see Jamie.

"Hey! I thought, yeno, since we hit it off so well back there, I might, uh, get your number?" Jamie questionably said. I could see a slight blush on his face. It was cute.

"Sure!" I said, before giving him my number.

"Question. Would you like to hang out sometime?"

"That would be awesome! I do not get out of the house much, so it would be a nice change of pace."

"Okay, how about I pick you up from your place and take you somewhere nice? Like, not too fancy, I only work at a coffee shop," he laughed," maybe just a park or somewhere quiet. I hate loud scenes."

"Same and that sounds like a plan! See you tomorrow then. I will text you my address in the morning."

"Alright, take care!"

"I will!" I said, getting in my car and cranking it.

Alright. My other book is finished, so now I am finally picking this book up! This chapter was pretty crappy, but, whatever, it will get better hopefully!
