(Listen to the song whilst reading)

-Carmin-

"You're going to die, Carmin," Jamie cried. His voice was hoarse. 'I am going to die?' The thought echoed in my head as I stared blankly at my lover.

"Wh-what do you mean?" I asked.

"You have cancer."

"Why couldn't I just get chemotherapy?"

"It's too far developed for the chemo to have an effect before you kick the bucket," He lowly explained," I convinced them to let me take you home for the remaining time you have left, because I did not think you would want to spend your last few weeks in a hospital."

As the words flooded out of his mouth, I couldn't help but break down.

"Why did you not tell me earlier?"

"I didn't know how, Carmin."

After a few moments of silence, I pulled him into a hug. When I did, he cried.

"It's going to be okay, sweetheart," I whispered, rubbing my hand through his hair.

-Third Person-

The two boys were paused in embrace, trying to figure everything out. Carmin was trying to hold back his emotions, but Jamie let his show. They were both broken up about this, but showing it in their own ways.

Soon the two let go of each other and laid down.

"How about we talk about this tomorrow?" Carmin asked, pulling away from Jamie. Jamie, face covered in tears, nodded and laid down with his partner. Carmin leaned over to Jamie and pecked his lips.

"I love you," Carmin whispered.

"I love you too." Jamie echoed.

The two boys then fell asleep, unsettled about what they will talk about tomorrow.

---

Jamie woke up to the sound of crackling lightning. He turned over to see that the power was out and the alarm clock was not working. Huffing, the boy got up, trying to not wake his lover, and checked his phone.

"Seven missed calls," He softly spoke, "from work." Closing his eyes, Jamie walked downstairs, unlocked his phone and called his boss.

"Finally! You called! Where have you been? You have not been to work in ages. I understand your partner is home from the hospital, but this is July fourth weekend! We have tons of customers lining up at the doors!" His boss calmly yelled.

"I know, I know! Can I switch with Sarah and take second shift? I just need to settle a few things with Carmin."

"Alright, just, please do not be late."

"I won't, I promise." He hung up the phone. Jamie closed his phone and started back upstairs only to run into Carmin on the way up. The two exchanged looks. Jamie immediately teared up and ran back down the stairs, Carmin following as close as he could while still holding onto his oxygen tank.

"J-Jamie, stop. T-Talk to me." Carmin coughed. Jamie stopped in the living room and turned around.

"I don't want you to go," he yelled," you're literally all I have!" Carmin walked over and embraced Jamie.

"Listen, no matter what happens, I will always love you, alright?"

"Bu-."

"No but's Jamie. We have no say in this. What's coming is coming and we cannot stop it. Calm down, please. It'll be alright."
