Twelve o'clock rolled around. As did a thunderstorm. I laid in my bed and Jamie in his. As I laid in my bed, I heard my door open. Light footsteps approached my bed. Turning over, I saw Jamie standing there.
"C-Carmin... could I lay with you?" He shakily asked. By looking at him, I could tell that he was pretty spooked.
"What's wrong?"
"I, uh-," he was cut off by a sudden flash of lighting proceeded with a band of thunder. This caused him to leap into my bed and bury his face into my side. 'He's just like a puppy,' I thought.
"You're scared of thunder, huh?" I asked after seeing his display.
"How'd you figure that one out, Sherlock?" He giggled. Rolling my eyes and smiling, I pulled my comforter over the both of us.
-Jamie-
Once he covered the both of us up, I placed a hand on his shirtless chest. It was warm. It had been a while since I got to cuddle up to someone during a storm. Kriss would normally just make fun of me and lock me in my room. Loosening my muscles, I closed my eyes and tried to get some rest.
-Carmin-
He placed his hand on my chest, sending a chill up my spine from how cold his hand was.
As the night dragged on, I stayed awake to make sure that Jamie would stay asleep. The storm had subsided thirty minutes ago and Jamie was fast asleep. Lifting my head up to look at my alarm clock, I saw that it was nearly five in the morning. I laid my head back down and tried to go back to sleep.
"Carmin?" I heard Jamie question.
"Yeah?"
"How long have you been awake?"
"Since you came in here."
"What? Why?" He inquired.
"To make sure you slept throughout the entirety of the storm," I whispered.
"W-why?"
"Because I care about you."
"Really?" He asked, sitting up.
"Really." I answered, half smiling. I felt Jamie's arms wrap around me. He was hugging me. His hug was warm unlike when he placed his hand on my chest. It made me feel good inside.
When he pulled away from the embrace, he looked me in the eyes. I could tell that he was thinking because, just like me, he has a pitiful poker face.
"What are you looking at?" I asked, smiling.
"I don't know, I haven't figured it out yet," he joked. I chuckled a bit and sat up. Jamie was still looking me in the eyes, thinking. 'What is he thinking about,' I thought,' maybe he is looking for a reason to leave. Nah, that couldn't be, he is enjoying himself too much here. At least, I think so. May be is-,' I was cut of by something soft. His lips pressed against mine. Caught off guard, I kissed him back, not thinking. I felt his hand come up and touch the back of my head, playing with my hair.
As we ended the kiss, we pulled back to look at each other, realizing what we had just done. I felt my cheeks heat up, as did Jamie's from what I could see from the light that was slowly creeping in with the sunrise.
"I-I-I'm sorry, I di-dn't mean to. I jus-t ki-," I cut him off by hugging him.
"It's alright," I smiled.
