Chap 5: Tricks Can Turn Into Love

Kylie's pov.

        I changed out of my comfy, work clothes and into jeans and a plain white T-shirt. I brushed though my hair and talked with Chuck for a bit. I checked my watch to see that I had about 5 minutes till I have to meet up with Newt.

        "I'm sorry Chuck. Can we contuine this conversation tommorow? I have to go meet up with Newt." I asked tring not to hurt his feelings. "Yeah, sure. Hey, you know what I heard?" I shook my head. "Well, almost everyone in the Glade thinks that Newt likes you."

           He winked and gave me a thumbs up. "Really. Thanks Chuck. Your a big help." I said and kissed his cheek. He nodded happily. I smiled and leaved the Homestead. I stopped when I relized that I didn't have my dagger in my combat boot.

         I turned around and ran back up to my room. The Keepers decided that Haley and I will have rooms in the Homestead like the Keepers because we're girls. I will just leave it at that.

          I grabbed the dagger and went to our tree house. When I woke up in the box, I realized that the dagger was in my boot. I haven't told anybody either because I was scared that they would take it away from me. If I don't have it with me I feel insecure and as fragile as glass.

        That's not what I want to be. I want to seem stronger than some of the guys. I was inside the tree house and I saw that Newt wasn't here yet. I did just see him talking to the Keepers. I decided that I would scare him.

          When we built this, we made it so that most of the tree branches were inside the building. I used my dagger to make foot holds so I could climb into the branches. The branches weren't that far from the floor either.

        But I would have to watch the landing though. I made the place look like someone was trying to take me and I was struggling a bunch. When I looked around at the mess and I was satisfied. I went to the ramp to watch for Newt.

        Not even 2 minutes later Newt came run towards me. As soon as I saw him I ran inside and up the tree. As soon as I got to the top of the 'ladder', Newt bursted into the living room.

        "Ky......" He was about to call for me, when he saw the mess. "What happened? Kylie! Kylie! Was Gally here to bloody kill her or something?!?" He though in panic. He ran everywhere in the tree house, but never once looked up.

       I smirked. I was sitting on a branch that was a few feet away from him but high up. Then I think he started crying. "Oh Kylie. Where are you? I think I like her." He said looking forward, crying.

       This caught me off guard. I fell right in front of him. But lucky he heard my scream before I past him. Thanks to his fast reflexes he caught me and held me close to him.

        "What were..... what happened........ whatttt!?!?!?!" He stuttered, his brown eyes confused but relieved at the same time. "Well since you weren't here yet I wanted to scare you. So I made it look like someone was trying to kidnap me or something.

        Then I climbed into the tree branches. I was going to jump down and scare you. But when you said you think you liked me, that caught me off guard and yeah...." I explained. I looked down and blushed.

        "I do Kylie, I really do love you." He whispered leaning in. "I love you too, Newt" I whispered as Newt connected our lips. It was prefect. Our lips moved prefectly together.

        He carried me over to one of the bedrooms and layed me down on the hamock. He slipped next to me. Half on and half off of me as we continued to kiss.

      He snaked his left arm around my higher back and his right arm on my hip. His left hand took both of my hands from his hair to above my head.

Newt's pov.

       I was prefect. Kylie is an amazing kisser. After her hands were pinned down by my left hand, I took this opportunity to take my right arm and tickled her sides. It made her laugh and her mouth opened. I slipped my tongue into it.

15 minutes later.....

         We lay next to each other breathless. (Fully clothed. They always were. :P) I turn to Kylie nervously and said,

"Will you be my girlfriend?"........
