Haley's pov.
Today is my first day as a runner. I'm sooooo excited. First I get up to see Minho is already up and out of the cabin so I get myself ready with comfy clothes and nice footwear. I grabbed my backpack that Minho gave me, from under the bed Minho and I share. I needed to pack some food to go. (If you love food TELL ME. I LOVE food so much)
Nobody else was really up yet besides the runners. I walked over to the kitchen, where I see Frypan cooking some stuff for breakfast before the Gladers wake up. "Hey Fry." I said as I sat down at the table next to the door. "Hey Haley. Have you seen anyone cuddle before?" He asked.
"No, why?" I asked very confused. "Well, you and Minho were cuddling last night. If you hurry you can see Newt and Kylie before you go. Your all so adorable together." He said smirking. I looked at the ground and blushed. "Thanks Fry."
"No problem, Hay." He said still smirking. "About that runner's lunch, can I have turkey sandmitch (lobll), an apple, grapes, and 2 bottles of water please?" I asked eating the eggs, bacon, and sausage he made. (I made myself want food. Mostly bacon though :) ) "Sure thing, girl." Frypan said in a mocking girly voice. I glared playfully at him as he puts my food in a brown bag and hands it to me.
"Thanks dude." I mocked in a guy voice making both of us laugh. "No prob." He smiled as I left. I take a quick look at Newt and Kylie. Frypan was right. They were adorable. I walk to the map room where all the other runners are gathered. "Ok guys, now that everyone is here go to your section." Minho's voice boomed though the room. I walked over to him and kissed him quickly.
"Hey babe." He said as we start to head to the south doors. "Hey, is Thomas coming with us?" I asked him when we stop at the entrance. He shook his head. "Poor shank said he feels like a piece of klunk. Throwing up everywhere. Gross."
He gestures into the maze and starts full on running down the hallway. (Sorry I dont know what else to call it) I quickly start to run after him. Wow, I didn't expect it to feel like I was a mouse running though a giant maze to find the cheese.
Kylie's pov.
Haley and I were healed enough to work again. I got my cast off and Haley can run again. After I finished my shift I go under the ramp to the tree house me and Newt built and just though about things.
"Hey babe, what you thinking about?" A british accent asked as they sat beside me. Newt. "Nothing. Why does Haley want to be a runner though?" I asked cuddling against his body. He started playing with my hair.
"I dont know. Thomas came here wanting to be a runner too. Kylie, I hate this place so much." He said his voice cracking a little. "I do too Newt but you have to stay strong. We will get though this, together." I said entwining our finger together. We kissed for what seemed like forever. It was rough and passionate. His arms wrapped around me. Until we heard a scream.
