Chapter 9: The Nightmare

Dream scape Roxies P.O.V

I'm walking around Adventure Bay heading back to the Lookout after having lunch at Mr Porters cafe when I'm pulled into an alleyway the same alley I met Chase.

"Hello freak." Buddy says. "What do you want?" I ask them. "We want you and don't bother calling for help we have already killed that German Shepard." Buster says showing me Chase's body as well as Ryder and the other pups all dead with the Lookout destroyed.

"Now be a good girl and do as we say." Buddy says trying to mount me. "No." I scream before Buster shoves his member in my mouth.

Real world Chase's P.O.V

I feel Roxie tossing and turning so I look at her. "Rox wake up." I whisper trying to wake her. After five minutes of me trying to wake her she wakes up screaming thank god the inside of my pup house is sound proof.

"Rox your safe." I say. Rox looks at me before burying her face into my chest crying. "It's ok Rox I'm here it was just a nightmare." I whisper licking her head.

"Chase." Roxie says. "Yeah Rox?" I ask her. "I'm scared." Roxie says. "Of what?" I ask her. "Buddy and Buster coming after me." Roxie says.

"Is that what your nightmare was about?" I ask her. Roxie nods. I look at my clock and see it's just after 2:00 am. "Wanna talk about it?" I ask.

Roxie nods and tells me about her nightmare. "Then after they showed me your bodies they ra.." Roxie says stopping suddenly.

I sigh realising why she stopped. "They raped you didn't they?" I ask and Roxie nods. "It's ok Rox try and get some sleep it's late and know that I'm right here beside you." I tell her.

About ten minutes later Roxie is asleep again and I stay up watching her. I realised that I would be tired in the morning but right now my mate needed me.

I stay up the rest of the night watching Roxie sleep until my alarm goes off at 6:00 am. I stop my alarm and sleepily walk out to get a drink.

I walk into the Lookout and see Ryder preparing breakfast for the pups and I. "Morning Chase." Ryder says. "Morning Ryder sir." I say with a yawn.

"You ok?" Ryder asks me. "Yeah just didn't get much sleep last night Roxie had a nightmare about Buddy and Buster." I tell him. "I see can you go wake the other pups?" Ryder asks me.

"Of course Ryder." I say walking back outside and getting my pup pack. "Ruff megaphone." I say with a bark and my megaphone comes out of my pup pack.

"Pups breakfast is ready." I say into my megaphone. "Do you have to do that every morning Chase?" Rubble asks me as Marshall, Skye, Rocky, Zuma, Everest, Tracker, Ella, Tuck, Coral, Rex and Roxie glare at me.

"Sorry pups." I say as my megaphone goes back into my pup house. We all walk into the Lookout and eat breakfast. After breakfast the other pups go to play and Ryder calls me over to him.

"Yes Ryder?" I ask him. "I want you to go and get some sleep you've been up most of the night and if we need you on a mission I'd prefer you well rested and not half asleep." Ryder says.

"Yes sir Ryder." I say walking back outside. "Hey Chase come play freeze tag with us." Tuck calls. "Later pups I've just been told off Ryder to go back to sleep for a while." I say and Roxie looks at me.

"Why?" Ella asks me. "Just didn't get much sleep last night pups." I tell them walking into my pup house and going back to sleep.

Marshall's P.O.V

Chase has just walked into his pup house to go back to sleep and I turn to the other pups. "Somethings up Chase has never had trouble sleeping before." I say as the other pups nod and Roxie looks away.

"Rox what is it?" Skye asks her. "I think Chase stayed up after 2:00 am to watch me sleep." Roxie tells us. "What do you mean Wox?" Zuma asks.

"Well I had a nightmare about Buddy and Buster last night and Chase comforted me then I went back to sleep and Chase must've stayed up watching me." Roxie tells us.

"What did they do?" Tuck asks. "I'd rather not say." Roxie tells us before walking away. "Skye, Ella, Sweetie, Coral and I will talk to her she might be more open if it was just us girls." Everest says following Roxie with the girls.

"What do you think the nightmare was about amigos?" Tracker asks us. "No clue Tracker but it must have been bad if Chase stayed up most of the night watching Rox sleep." Rubble says.

Everest's P.O.V

Sweetie, Ella, Skye, Coral and I catch up to Roxie in no time. "Hey Rox." Ella says causing Roxie to jump slightly. "Easy Rox it's just us." Sweetie says.

"You pups scared me. I thought you were Buddy and Buster." Roxie says. "Why would you think that Rox?" I ask. "Just because of my nightmare." Roxie says. "You can tell us Rox it's just the six of us girls." Skye says to her.

Roxie sighs and then tells us all about her nightmare including the part about Buddy and Buster rape her and then Buster kills her.

Skye, Ella, Sweetie, Coral and I walk over to her and pull her into a hug. "Thanks girls." Roxie says after we break the hug. "Your welcome Rox you ready to play now?" Sweetie asks.

Roxie nods and we head back to the Lookout and resume our game of freeze tag until we have to go to bed.
