"Holy shit."

Mingi took the pictures in his hand, eyes wide with disbelief as he drunk in the image that was in front of his computer screen. What had been once a blurred picture with little way to identify anyone was now crystal clear, giving Mingi the only insight he needed in all he was wondering about and what he was hired to do. There was no doubt about it.

Choi Jihoon had played a part in murdering the Lees.

It made a lot of sense, especially with their most recent encounter. Mingi had already deduced that Choi Jihoon was a fake persona, a made-up identity, and Jihoon had confirmed it for him. It didn't help that Mingi had accidentally stumbled on them, well, at least him talking to a woman. He'd almost given himself up then, making noise. However, he'd manage to get out of the situation scot-free, but in the midst of him messing up, he'd missed what Jihoon had been addressed by. Now all that was left was to figure out his name, and for that, it wouldn't take him much.

"If there's so much of a file on him, he'll appear in my data searches," Mingi murmured, already starting the searches. He didn't recognize the one next to Jihoon, having never seen him before. Still, something in his gut told him that if he were to show Hoseok the picture of both of them, Hoseok would be able to identify who the other person was without difficulty. He believed that they worked together, and hopefully, Mingi was right.

It took a couple of minutes, but something finally came up, leaving Mingi more confused.

Min Yoongi. Twenty One.

"Project Heartbreak?" Mingi asked, eyebrows furrowing. "Prodigy Elite?"

Mingi had never heard of such an organization existing within the government, but as he continued to scroll through the files that came up on Min Yoongi and a Jeon Jungkook— who was Jihoo—Yoongi's partner in crime. Looking at Jungkook closer, Mingi took out a picture he'd taken of Jihoo—Yoongi a few days ago. Both of them in disguise, as if they were carrying out a mission.

"Lee Juno. Assigned to Min Yoongi," Mingi read, his heart dropping to the floor. "Achieved success in ten days. Reported Juno head over heels for him by the end of the first week. Successfully exterminated alongside Lee Adeline on the 26th of June, Jeon Jungkook killing the female."

He continued to read along, every so often Yoongi's face appearing onto the screen. Raven hair falling just below his eyebrows, expression cold, eyes piercing judgment even from behind the screen. There were no soft features on his face, and it reminded him so much of Jihoon. Everything was starting to line up. While he didn't have all the answers, Mingi had enough evidence to give to Hoseok, but that brought another problem in itself.

"Jung Hoseok. Assigned to Min Yoongi."

His client was a target?

Before he could process his thinking, he immediately grabbed the phone, dialing Hoseok's number. At the third ring, it picked up.

"Did your wife find the bouquets lovely, Song Mingi?"

Mingi's blood ran cold at the voice, and he remained silent as he heard Yoongi chuckling through the end of the phone. He shouldn't have been surprising that Yoongi was ten steps ahead of him. He had always been. It showed with how he'd been under Hoseok and Mingi's noses the entire time.

"Tell me," Yoongi continued. "Everything, Song Mingi. I told you that I wanted to know what the best private investigator in Korea had to offer. You have yet to surprise me."

"You don't have to do it," Mingi gritted his teeth, keeping hushed tones. "You don't have to kill him, Yoongi. Don't do it."

"Those bouquets were lovely then," Yoongi laughed gleefully. "I'm so glad to hear. Guess you didn't heed my warning, huh? Not like I told you something could happen to you if you were to dig too deep."
