One Year Later

"So you have no idea what happened to Jung Hoseok?"

Min Yoongi huffed, letting the irritation seep into his features. He maintained his gaze on his superior, a feat that wasn't inviting as he was looked at with even more scorn.

"If you're helping hide Hoseok, we'll figure it out," his supervisor continued, narrowing his eyes. "As you know, we have already let go of Jooyoung and her associates. It will be a shame if we lose our prodigy because he doesn't want to rat out someone he was assigned to a year ago."

"I already told you, I don't know what happened to him," Yoongi said, irritated. "It isn't my problem that you were idiots who believed the President's daughter when she said she was pregnant. I just listened to the orders given to me."

Rose's excuse had given Hoseok nine months to disappear. Rose herself had made sure to keep herself out of the public eye, and it wasn't until Project Heartbreak began to pressure Rose that she admitted to lying about the incident, revealing that Hoseok knew everything that was going to happen.

Jung Hoseok was already someone who was declared an enemy of the organization, along with Mingi. When Yoongi was still tasked with killing him, the organization was kept at bay, even more so when Rose called off the request because he would be sworn into silence. With Rose's lie coming to light, it left a spot open for Hoseok to be appropriately taken out.

While Project Heartbreak couldn't touch Song Mingi, Mingi had agreed to silence, though that didn't extend to Hoseok. Hoseok had become a liability to Project Heartbreak, one that could expose their organization at any moment. Naturally, Yoongi became a prime suspect in Hoseok's disappearance. Yoongi and Jungkook had both confirmed that they had seen Hoseok last, but only Yoongi fit the criteria that the organization was looking for.

Jooyoung had gone on Yoongi's side, much to their organization's distaste. Because of that, she was let go a few months later, and Yoongi hadn't heard from her since. Whether she was alive or dead, Yoongi wasn't sure, but at least she'd also helped throw off some suspicion on him.

"If you're done with your daily dose of interrogation, I will take my leave now," Yoongi stood up, already turning on his heel. He ignored the yells coming from his supervisor, instead walking towards Jungkook, who was already waiting for him. Yoongi winked at Jungkook, and the latter grinned, straightening up before slinging an arm around Yoongi's shoulder.

As soon as they were in the comfort of Jungkook's vehicle, Jungkook turned to Yoongi, a raised eyebrow. Yoongi hummed, looking around to see if there were any lingering staff.

"Are you going to play in the park today?" Jungkook asked, turning on the vehicle. Yoongi nodded, taking out a second phone.

"Sunshine's been calling my name," Yoongi grinned, running his fingers through his hair as Jungkook pulled out of the parking lot. "New things we've been dying to try out."

Jungkook only shook his head at Yoongi's response. "I'm sure it'll be great. You won't be staying too long, though, right?"

Yoongi's lips pressed together. "I don't know. It's getting riskier for me."

"Sunshine pressuring you to hurry?" Jungkook questioned. Yoongi shrugged.

"Sunshine isn't forever," Yoongi mumbled, looking at his phone. "I need a subject change. How are things going with you and Taehyung?"

Jungkook scrunched his nose, shaking his head. "Yoongi, nothing is going on between us. I have no clue where you got that idea from."

It had been a rough year, to say the least. Things between Yoongi and Jungkook had tensed, mostly from Jungkook's side because he had felt more than guilty about what he had caused due to his irrationality. Yoongi had already forgiven, wanting to put everything past them, but he made the conscious decision of strengthening the friendship barrier between them.
