Grian was out in the snow covered forest attempting to gather supplies. It wasn't long after he had woken up, and it was still very early in the morning. There wasn't much in this forest, but he had gotten his hands on some more wood, some flowers, and some ore from a cave that was exposed. It has been roughly an hour and a half of Grian searching through the cold and despite the circumstances, he still found the forest's scenery beautiful. If he weren't so cold, he could sit out in that forest for hours and just enjoy it. But of course, he's not in the mood for freezing to death and thus being scolded by Stress and the other Hermits for doing such a stupid thing. He decided he'd done enough rummaging for now and headed back to the cave he's using as a shelter. During the walk, he felt like he was being watched but no matter how hard he looked, there was nothing. Not even any animals were curiously watching him stroll through their home. Grian shrugged and brushed off the feeling, assuming it was X searching for him or something. Once he made it back to his shelter, he set up his stuff. He had pulled his hands into his sleeves and rubbed them together to try and keep them warm.

He quickly rummaged through his items and found something in his Enderchest which he founds out he had in his inventory when he went through the portal. It was a long, soft, faded purple cloak, with the letters "H.C" on a small golden pin at the front. When players were moving to Hermitville, False had convinced X to help her make gifts for all the hermits, which turned out to be the cloaks. They were meant to resemble the elytras that all hermits used, along with the server's initials on the pin. Smiling fondly at the HermitCraft cloak, Grian swiftly stood up and flipped it over his wings and attached the pin at the front. His wings were still free despite now wearing something over them, which Gran must thank False and X again for their genius work once he gets back. Grian sat at his fire for a while warming himself up again after being out for so long. He'd planned to do another circle of the area to look for his friends once he was warm enough. After about half an hour, Grian stood up and stretched, before he took a running start towards the entrance of the cave and pushed himself off the ground, soaring into the sky.

It's been atleast an hour, he's not sure, but he knows it's been atleast that long.

Grian flapped his wings as he flew around the area, looking for where he came from. He had accidentally gone a little too far from his cave shelter and got a bit lost. He finally recognized the terrain below him as a little clearing he'd found in the woods when he was gathering supplies earlier and smoothly changed direction, heading towards the shelter. Once the cave entrance was withing view, he could see something odd.

Footprints? Lots of 'em too.

Grian thought to himself as he slowly glided down and landed on the snow with a satisfying crunch. He examined the tracks. It looked to be atleast 3 or 4 different pairs, it was a little hard to tell since they overlapped a lot. But he did notice that the tracks went straight into the cave, then some weird mess at the entrance, then in a completely different direction which seemed to lead towards a more mountain-y area. Grian quickly hopped into the cave, only to see it was empty, save for his things that were scattered around carelessly, exactly how he left them. He walked around slowly. Hundreds of thoughts ran through his mind about who could have been here while he was out.

Was it Mumbo and the others? They would have left a note for me if it was them. Some of the other hermits? Surely they'd know he's missing by now- But wouldn't they leave a note too? Or atleast a sign? What if it was just Wandering Traders and he had his hopes up for nothing?

What if you missed you chance to go home and now they won't find you?

Grian fought off the last thought. His friends would find him. They managed to find Xisuma and Etho when they had vanished and turned up trapped in snow, so why wouldn't they find him? They knew he was missing and probably in trouble, so of course they'd find him. Grian stopped walking and sat down next to a chest he had placed and took deep breaths, trying to calm down. Panicking won't help him. He sighed and wrapped his wings around himself in an attempt for comfort.

Then he suddenly felt like there were eyes on him. The same feeling as earlier. The feeling he brushed off as X looking for him. Grian sat up quickly. X was still looking for him. The Admin didn't know where he was yet. Either that or he's making sure that Grian's safe before they do anything. But if X was still watching him...

Then who was it that passed the cave? Surely they'd have atleast one person stay behind in case he came back, his fire was still burning when he got back, they'd know he was there recently. Only Grian could have a storage space as messy as the chest he was leaning against.

So was it that passed by?

Grian suddenly felt like things were about to get much, much more complicated than they already were. Like the feeling you might get right before something goes wrong in some way. Everything's fine and then bam- Something goes wrong. That feeling. That's what the winged Hermit feels as he looks around the cave.

Maybe his mind was messing with him. Maybe he'd spent too much time out in the cold. He needed to rest a bit, surely that'd help him think. He did also wake up at an unusual hour compared to when he normally gets up. Grian pushed a hand through his tangled sandy blonde hair and sighed. He leaned back onto the chest behind him and adjusted his cloak so it'd be more like a blanket. He hugged his wings closer to himself and closed his eyes, letting himself fall asleep. Sleep often helped him clear his head. Of course he didn't sleep as much as a certain knightly Hermit, but hey, he still sleeps a lot.

Grian smiled slightly, thinking about the Hermits as he fell asleep leaned against the chest of stuff. Hopefully the others hurry up and save him, there's only so long he's willing to spend in this frozen place.

I completely forgot to plan out past Grian finding the tracks, and I realized this as I was writing this chapter, but hopefully I made it work! I'll try and work on this story whenever I can!
