|Alice's POV|
We continued our way to Hades's Kingdom at a rather slow pace. Well, slow for me. Alek looked like he was having a hard time catching up. I couldn't help it, I wanted to get my sister as soon as possible and get out of this horrible place.
Not that I have anything against this place. In a way, this place had a nice scenery. Yes the place was dead, but It wasn't plain. I could imagine a painter debating what color he would choose for the burning lava under us. Or at what angle would he paint it.
We managed to get out of the dead forest and we were now in a plain rocky road. To the left of me, I can see the lava flowing freely under us, to the depths of the Underworld.
I hear Alek panting harshly and I turn around in concern.
"Are you alright?" I grab his shoulder so he could steady himself. He looks up and I could see how pale and sick he appear.
"I just need to rest," he said, gasping for air.
I grabbed his arm and pulled him behind a huge rock. It wasn't wise to be in sight. Someone could attack us by surprise.
He flopped down and leaned on the rock with a huge sigh of relief. I could no notice the huge bags he had underneath his eyes and the sweat dripping down his forehead.
I opened my bag and took out the bottle of water. After I opened it, I gave it to Alek.
"Drink," I demanded.
"Yes ma'am," he muttered. He brought the bottle to his lips and took huge gulps. He gave me the now empty bottle and I shoved it back to my bag.
I took out my phone and my jaw dropped when I checked the time.
"Holy shit!" I tried to calculate in my head how many hours we walked.
It was now six in the afternoon. We started walking around two in the morning, with a few minute breaks in between. We have walked a total of sixteen hours! No wonder Alek looked like he was about to drop dead.
"What's up?" I turned around and saw that Alek was sliding down, his head and shoulder were the only thing leaning on the boulder. His voice was a slow murmur and his eyes were half closed.
I dropped my phone in the bad and quickly grabbed the sleeping bags, laying them down behind the boulder.
Once I was done, I went over to Alek and shook him softly.
"Alek! Hey!" I almost laughed as he tried to force his eyes open. He looked ridiculous, as if he was drunk.
"Mhmm?"
"You're sleeping bag is ready. You'll be more comfortable. Alek? Alek!" I hissed.
He snapped his eyes open and glared at me for disturbing him. "I'm up! I'm up! Fuck man!"
I bit my lip to keep myself from dying of laughter. I wasn't even mad, not when he looks so fucking hot.
"In the bag. Now!" I ordered. He glances at the bags and then rolls his eyes as he crawls over to them. Once he was inside, he looks at me confused.
"What?" I asked, staring at him.
He patted the empty space besides him and then looked at me. "Aren't you coming?"
I smiled and pecked his lips. "I'm hungry. I'll be there soon."
He glimpse at the backpack then nodded. Finally he lay down on the sleeping bag.
After a few minutes, when I was sure that Alek was sound asleep, I left our camp and wandered the path.
My thirst had not gone away. It was unbearable, trying to hide it away from Alek and even worse, when he would be so near that I can almost taste his alluring blood in my tongue.
