|Alek's POV |

"Alice! Alice!" I yelled frantically, as I saw her crouched down the floor. A scream echoed through the woods and I looked at the depths of the woods. Where was the voice coming from? Another scream sooner followed the first one and I gazed down, horrified as I saw Alice's ears started bleeding. Was it because of the scream inside the woods. The scream was loud, but not loud enough to make ears bleed.

I grabbed her shoulders and shook her lightly, but she didn't seem to be paying attention to me. My heart pumped faster as I saw Alice's face crunched in pain.

Suddenly, the scream stopped and it was silent again. I couldn't hear anything except my small pants.

"Alice?" I leaned over her as I saw her trying to kneel up. "You okay?"

She ignored me and looked at the palms of her hands, which were stained with blood.

"I'm okay," she whispered. She looked at me with a confused face.

"I'm okay," she repeated and then she looked shocked.

"What's wrong?" I asked her while caressing her cheek. Her faced paled as she looked at my lips then back to my eyes.

"Baby?" My eyes widen in alarm. She wasn't answering me and it was scaring me.

"Alek," she whispers. She hold her fingers up to her ears and snaps them.

I was confused. I didn't know what was happening to her and I felt useless.

I cupped her cheeks and kiss her. Her lips formed into a cute pout which made me smile. "You have to tell me what's wrong?" I looked her and frowned.

She shook her head. "I'm deaf, I can't hear a single word you're saying."

Fuck! Was the screaming that loud? "What are we going to do?"

She narrowed her eyes and I suddenly realized that she couldn't hear me.

"Sorry," I muttered. She scowled and smacked my arm. "It's not funny!" She growled.

I looked at her horrified. Was she going to stay deaf forever?

She stood up and dusted off the dirt from her knees. I got up too and grabbed our bags. She looked around and closed her eyes while furrowing her eyebrows. I knew she was concentrating by the way her whole body tensed up.

I couldn't help but look at how beautiful she was.

And she's all yours.

I smirked at the thought. In reality it was the other way around. I was hers and had to obey her commands. My world laid on her feet. I have sworn to protect her over my life. I wasn't complaining though.

She finally opened her eyes and her lips twitched in amusement. "I caught you staring," she smirked.

I winked at her and she laughed. I sighed. Of course, I'm whipped. Ever since we first met, she has me wrapped around her finger.

My thoughts went back to the first day our school went coed and combined The academies in out school. I remembered the first time we met in the auditorium. We've come a long way since then.

"It's okay. In deaf temporarily. My eardrums aren't damage." She interrupted my thoughts.

I scowled and glanced at the road ahead of us. "What was that noise?" I said to myself.

"A harpy," she answered. I raised my eyebrows at her. I thought she couldn't hear me. She shrugged. "My hearing is coming back."

I looked back at the road and a chill went down my back. "Harpy?"
