3rd Person POV.
The three were now nearby McCaroll ranch. Their horses just a few meters away from the ranch.
Y/N: We're close.
Vanessa: I think so, the map we got from that tent earlier really made it easier for us to find it.
Clementine: I'll finally get to see AJ again.
Y/N: Can't wait to meet the little guy.
Vanessa: Me too!
The three kept moving in the direction of where the ranch was. The three were shocked when they saw that the ranch they were looking for was right in front of them but was on fire.
Vanessa: What the....
Y/N: Holy shit.
Clementine: Come on! We gotta get AJ out of there!
Y/N and Vanessa makes their individual horses move faster as it gallops towards the ranch.
Vanessa: You two get inside and try and find him, i'll stay outside and wat-
Her sentence was cut short as a shot was fired and a bullet landing straight in her head.
Y/N: Vanessa!
Her body gets knocked off of her horse as it gets scared and gallops away.
Clementine: Y/N, look out!
Another shot was fired and it hit their horse as it fell to the ground, bringing the two down with it. Both of them were on the ground behind the horse. Clementine looks at the horse with sorrow as it slowly died before ducking her head once more to avoid the shot that came right in their direction.
Y/N gets closer to the dead horse and takes out his gun. Once their gunner stopped firing, Y/N got up slightly and shot the man who fired at them that was sitting on the floor leaning on the railing on the bridge where most of it was broken.
Y/N: Go inside, I'll take care of Vanessa.
Y/N gets up first then helps Clementine up. He nods at her before she takes out her gun and starts heading towards the ranch.
Y/N walks up to Vanessa's dead body which was laying on its side.
Y/N moves her over so she'll be lying down on her back. Her eyes were still opened.
Y/N reaches into his pocket and takes out the letter that her friend, Peter wanted to give her. He placed it in her hand as he placed her hands on her stomach.
Y/N: I'm sorry. At least you died a quick one. You didn't suffer. Just a clean death. I should've given you this letter sooner.
Y/N closes her eyes and gets up just as Clementine executes the man that was shooting at them earlier.
Y/N makes it over to her.
Y/N: Anything you got from him?
Clementine: Nothing. Asshole flipped me off.
Y/N: Come on, let's go inside.
Y/N's POV.
I take out my gun and held it in my hand as we went inside the ranch. We had to get past some rubble when going inside. Just as I stepped one of my legs in, something grabbed it.
I quickly got inside and shook it off and aimed my gun at what I thought was a walker which turned out to be a burnt man.
Man: Please, please kill me.
