"Please, Kid. Sit down," you begged, trailing after your boyfriend. "You can hardly stand. Look at you - you're swaying on your feet."

" 'M fine," came the stuffy voice of your boyfriend. Kid continued to stumble down the hallway, waving a hand back at you in dismissal. "(y/n), 'm fine, really... i just need to focus... "

His vision zoomed in and out of focus. He willed himself to keep walking. 'Just put one foot in front of the other... left, right, left, right, left-' He paused as a particularly strong spasm hit his chest. He coughed violently, body beginning to sway to one side.

Suddenly, he was heading face-first towards the floor. Luckily, before he hit the linoleum, you were there to catch him. He sniffed, trying to catch his breath. You helped Kid to his feet, and he ended up leaning against you for support.

"Come on, sweetheart, you're sick," you murmured, brushing back his damp with sweat bangs. "You need to go back to bed."

He weakly glared at you, pushing you off of him. " 'M fine, thank you very much... I just... I just need to get to class... class-"

As he took a step forward, his vision began to blacken. He swallowed nervously, willing himself to keep moving. The last thing he heard was your gasp before his knees gave out from underneath him, body crumpling to the floor.

When he came to, he was lying in his own bed. He groaned, blinking rapidly as a headache began to form at the center of his skull. Kid's eyes finally focused all the way, and he was left staring at his bleak ceiling.

This was most certainly not the DWMA. He cursed under his breath. It was most likely you who had brought him here. He couldn't waste time just lying here in bed. He had classes to attend, a kishin to destroy.

Kid sat up, the room spinning around him rapidly. He clenched his teeth and squeezed his eyes shut, trying to get the feeling to pass. The male moved to get out of bed when there was a gentle hand on his shoulder. You pushed him delicately back down to a laying position, shushing his protests.

"(y/n), c'mon," he murmured weakly, staring up at your blurry figure.

"Sorry, sweetheart. No can do." You shook your head back and forth. "You're sick. You can hardly even walk. Just lay down, alright? Let me take care of you. You deserve at least one sick day, don't you?"

He gave a long sigh, closing his eyes. He considered your words, and what you were saying did ring true. However, he had things to do. How could he become a great reaper like his father if he was stuck in bed? Of course, he was of no good use to this world if he was sick.

"... Alright," he gave in, opening his eyes tiredly. "I'll take a sick day... Just don't leave, 'kay?"

You intertwined your pink with his. "Pinky promise."

"Pinky promise," he repeated with a weak smile.

You brushed aside his bangs from his sweaty face, planting a kiss on his forehead. "Get some rest, okay? You deserve it. I'll be right here when you wake up."

Kid hummed in response, soon drifting off into a state of slumber.

"There you are. " Kid felt your fingers scratching at his scalp while his eyes fluttered open. True to your word, you hadn't left the room. You stayed by his side the entire time. Now, you were currently sitting on the edge of his bed, running your fingers through his hair. "Did you have a nice nap, sleeping beauty?"

He murmured something intelligible in response, slowly pushing himself to a sitting position. You laughed at his answer. He smacked his lips together, bringing a balled fist to rub at his sleepy eyes.

You pulled your hands back, placing them in your lap. "Feeling any better?"

"A little," he admitted. His headache had gone away, and he could sit up without the room violently spinning around him. He still felt drained of all energy, though, and his chest was heavy - filled with mucus.

"That's good to hear. Think you can bring yourself to eat something? I've got some soup. All I need to do is warm it up."

Kid nodded, and you took that as a yes to go retrieve the soup. You placed a kiss on his forehead before exiting the room.

He yawned, rolling his shoulders back. His body cracked, and he winced. Letting out a sigh, he glanced over at his clock. Yes, he most certainly did miss his classes for the day. No point in trying to move now.

Still, he was getting bored of sitting in this bed (even if he had been sleeping all day). His body itched for the urge to do something, but he doubted he'd be able to get much done. Maybe he could get you to do something with him. The bookshelf may need to be organized again. He spared a glanced over at said shelf, eye twitching in annoyance.

You re-entered the room, a steaming bowl in your hands. "I brought soup!" You sang, bringing it close to his bedside. "Hope you like it!"

The black-haired male took the bowl from you, bringing a spoonful of hot soup to his mouth. "... It's not bad."

"It's canned soup," you immediately blurted out, rubbing the back of your neck. "Kid, I love you, but I'm not gonna spend time making soup you may or may not eat from scratch."

"Fair enough."

He finished off his soup in peace, you humming to fill the silence. He leaned back against his pillows, turning on his side to look at you. You smiled at him, intertwining your hands together.

"I'm sick of laying in this stupid bed," he groaned, pouting.

You laughed at him, smiling sweetly. "I know you are... Just think, if you stay in this bed today, you can be back at school tomorrow, insulting the Thompson sisters about how their outfits don't match."

Kid gave a small smile. "Alright... I'll stay in bed... Thank you for taking care of me, (y/n)."

"No problem, sweetheart. Next time, though... just admit you're sick instead of passing out in the hallway, okay?"
