Jisung was finishing his shift at the connivence store, about to head off to the bar, when he remembered he got fired. Turning back on his heels, he headed home while thinking about Minho's offer from earlier today. Should I take the offer? The pay is more than all of my jobs combined. But if he only comes in once a while then I won't last for another four months. I could take the job and still keep my original-
His trail of thought got cut off when he heard a loud bang inside his shared apartment. Taking out his keys and cautiously opened the door, he was greeted with an interesting scene. Changbin and his roommate were both on the ground. With Changbin hovering over the freckled boy.
"This isn't what it looks like!" Felix shoved Changbin off of him.
"Uh-huh," Jisung walked past them. "And I didn't threatened to yank someone's vocal cords out this morning."
"WAIT!" Felix tried to stop his friend from entering the living but it was too late.
Jisung saw a bag of guns in one corner and several holes in the wall. One behind the couch, another in the hallways, and the one in the kitchen. There were probably a couple of more, either patched up or somewhere he hasn't seen yet. What the hell is going on? Where did these guns come from?
"Felix?" Jisung turned to the said male for answers. "You have some explaining to do."
"I- well- so," Felix scratched the back of his nape, trying to find an excuse.
Changbin broke the two up. "You can get your explanation later. I still have work to do so if you could move to aside."
Jisung wanted to protest but with Changbin pushing him aside, he was left with no choice but to follow that male's orders. He scoffed as he headed to his room, hearing banging and a drill go off in the background. Closing the bedroom door, he dropped himself onto his bed, thinking about the guns earlier.
Let's see- there was a Semi-Automatic Pistol, Beretta 92, CZ 75, Glock 17. All of which are handguns. Small, portable, and easy to disguise. But what's Felix doing with these? Think Jisung... when you entered, there was a bag of guns and holes in the wall- THEY'RE HIDING GUNS HERE?! Jisung shot up and shook his head. There are only a few possible answers to this. One, he could be a gun dealer. Two, he stole these guns. Or three, he's in the-
Before he could finish that last thought, a knock was came from his door.
"Um, Ji?" Felix's voice was faintly heard.
Getting up, Jisung opened the door, revealing a distressed Felix.
"So about those guns," He started.
Felix sighed. "Let's just say it's a safety precaution in case anything happens."
Jisung hummed in response, knowing that he was given half of the truth. "I'm going to wash up. If you need to use the bathroom, use it now."
Felix could only stare at his roommate in shock and confusion. "That's it? You're not going to ask me more?"
"Everyone has secrets, good or bad. It's not my place to pry. If you want to tell me, then you will, if not, so be it. Just because you don't tell me the whole story doesn't mean that you're lying or deceiving me. I know you don't mean any harm with your actions and would never do something to harm me or others. And if you do hurt us, you do it for the sake of our safety."
With those words, Felix started crying, causing the male in front of him to panic.
"Why are you crying?!" Jisung grabbed some tissues and handed them to the boy in front of him. "Did I say something wrong?"
"No, it's just-" Felix hiccuped through sobs. "You're so nice- I don't deserve you."
Jisung sighed in relief. "I'll take that as a compliment," He then changed the topic. "Lix, when Minho offered me to be his assistant, do you think he was serious about that?"
"Are you considering his idea!?"
"I might, not quite sure yet. For starters, I don't even know what assistants do."
"If you're working for my brother, it'll be easy. All you have to do is, tell him what needs to get done and when, remind him to finish those tasks, and make appointments. It seems like a lot but I promise you it isn't, trust me."
"You both keep empathizing that he doesn't come into work often. How often does he even go in?"
"Well, it depends- He either goes when he feels like it or when he's really bored and has nothing to do. That or our parents force him to go. From past experience, he only goes once or twice a month. Sometimes every three months."
"And you're telling me that he's rich?" Jisung groaned. "I'll never understand rich people. Stupid capitalism."
"If it makes you feel any better, he's technically supposed to come at least once or twice a week. But because of his past assistants, he tries to come in as little as possible. They would always try to sleep with him, use him for clout, or try to rob him. If they don't take their job seriously, then why should he? Regardless of all of that, I know you'll do great!"
"If his parents are rich, shouldn't they hire professional people?"
"Their resumes show professionalism but once they saw Minho they went berserk, I guess."
"You have an odd vocabulary," Jisung laughed at the freckled male's word choice. "I'm going to shower now, so if you need to use the washroom, go now."
"Let's do something after you shower."
Jisung declined the suggestion. "I need to finish up my assignments and all you're going to do is distract me. I would like to finish all of my work before tomorrow."
"It's Saturday tomorrow! You can do your homework on Sunday or Monday morning! Plus you don't even have work tomorrow!"
"The only reason why I don't have work tomorrow is because you made take a break. I can't do homework on Sunday since I have an early shift Monday morning."
"I'll just go to Seungmin and Jeongin's place," Felix huffed, leaving the flat.
