"Bucky!" I shouted as I witnessed my best friend fall off the train
My hands grip the railing in guilt as I recall that day
I should've saved him
I hear light footsteps now
"What are you doing out here Steve?" Y/N asks me
My hands on the railing ease
"I guess I'm stressed" I reply
She stands next to me
Complete silence. C'mon Rogers, do something
"You know, until I first met Bucky, I struggled to get a single girl. He was the ladies man, girls were always crowding around him. Then after I become Captain America, every single woman wanted to date me"
"Tell me how you become Cap" Y/N says
"There was a secret experiment going on to test a new serum. I volunteered to take part in it. Howard Stark was the genius behind it. They put me in a machine and injected me with the serum. When I got out, I was way taller, got muscles. Most of all, I became insanely strong. That's how I'm strong as Thor and how I took down the punching bag in one hit when we met" I finish
"Wow" Y/N says
"But ever since James fell, I always have been feeling tremendously guilty"
Y/N puts her hand on my cheek
I blush
"Steve, that was, and never will be, your fault. There was nothing you could've done. HYDRA got him. They're the only ones to blame" She reassures me
Some pressure lifts me
"Thank you" I hug her
A little shocked, Y/N hugs me back
I wouldn't mind doing this as part of my regular routine
