*A MONTH AGO, THE NIGHT AFTER THE GALA*

I just hung up with Harper as I'm waiting for her outside. I love my cousin but she's started to get on my nerves. I'm glad she introduced me to Atticus because man this guy brings in a lot of money. I'm about to get my percentage of what's his and maybe a bit more. His dumbass didn't bother reading the contract and I'm getting way more money than I told him. See, that's the good thing about college newbies, they don't read the contract and they lose so much. I've gotten plenty of athletes like this, I build their fame but little do they know I'm getting far more than they deserve.

The only smart one was Ken, it took him a while to figure it out but it was too late. I had most of his money. I mean the man is still rich so I'm not sure why he's pissed at me. I could give two fucks who he screws. I just had to tell the tabloids that he had a drinking problem and he shot up steroids, he ended his career when he wanted to pull out of the contract, I just added the extra seasoning. He tried to sue me but he couldn't. I mean he got some of his money back but I still have a huge chunk of it in an international account.

Now, Atticus is fucken gold. I've never seen so much money for this guy. I love it but he's stubborn about that damn contract, especially with him running into Ken. I needed to get rid of him, he's a threat and no one is going to influence Atticus. I made a call to a good friend, Maximus Cross. He told me he'll send one of his thugs to spy on Ken and that's exactly what he did, this guy has men all over the world so I'm meeting with him in the parking lot of this hotel. I'm just waiting for my dear cousin to get her ass out.

Finally, she comes out as she notices my car. I unlocked the door as she came inside. She's rubbing her cheek as she looks annoyed and bothered. "Just shake it off, cousin. You're getting your revenge on that ex of yours."

She stood quietly as I drove to the parking lot. I noticed she was looking down. She played with her clutch. "What's the matter?" I asked.

"Maybe we should just let it go. I think we've humiliated him already. He looks...," I cut her off.

"Harper, please tell me you don't feel sorry for him. He humiliated you and still does it. I'm doing you a favor and you're getting some money out of it as well. I'm deposited a good amount in your account tomorrow," she stood quietly as I looked for Ken's rental then I saw a guy with a hoodie next to his rental, he was cleaning his hands as I approached him slowly. I opened the window on Harper's side as this guy leaned on the edge of the door. He looked fucken scary as his eyes were crystal blue, he had heavy dark circles and a scar that went vertically down his left eye. "You got the cash," his voice was deep as I nodded. I went inside my jacket and handed him a thick envelope.

"Is the job done?" I asked as he opened the envelope to check the cash.

"Those brakes won't get him far after he presses them a few times," he maliciously smirked and leaned back.

"Good, I just need him out of the way."

"For sure, I'll clean up here and the job is done."

"It better be or else I'll be calling your boss and you know he doesn't like jobs half-assed," I smirked as I closed the passenger window.

"Stephan, isn't that going a bit too far?" Harper asked, she's fucken getting on my fucken nerves. Is she feeling sorry for this guy? Jesus, I knew I should've just kept my mouth shut on helping her.

"Harper, to succeed in life you need to weed out the poison. Ken just tainted Atticus with his words so I need to weed him out before Atticus gets any ideas from him."
