*MYLES*
*TRIGGER MOMENT TOWARDS THE END OF THE CHAPTER*
The weekend went by quickly, a little too quick and now I'm walking to my first class, which was psychology. I had 30 minutes before my class start so I'll go get me a coffee. It was a cold morning so I stopped by the café stand inside the student food court. I was bundled up in my turtle neck and Amelia's exes leather jacket. It was quite comfortable but I'll return it when I see her today. I ordered a plain dark coffee and a glazed donut. I waited for my order as rummaged through my crossbody backpack, where is my class schedule?
"Boo!" I jumped as Amelia giggled.
"Damn it!" I yelled as I got annoyed. I hated being scared but Amelia doesn't know that so I'll need to calm down.
"Sorry, not a morning person," I guess she saw how I darted a death glare at her.
"Sorry, I'm just not a morning person before my coffee," I forced a grin. "And I can't find my schedule, great! I'll just look for it when I get to psychology class."
"Ohh you have psychology right now?"
"Yeah, with Prof. White."
"Great, I have that class too," my mood instantly changed when she said that, at least I have a friend in that class.
We finally made it into the lecture room. I noticed Clark was sitting in the front row. He waved us down as I sat next to him and then Amelia next to me. He looked so handsome with his navy turtleneck and his glasses made him look sharp. "I see we all have this class," a tiny smile formed on the corner of his lips.
The professor passed the syllabus and told us he assigned us, partners. I closed my eyes and didn't like the idea of having a stranger as a study partner. I hope it's either Clark or Amelia.
"Clark Smith and Amelia Rose," the professor called out. They raised their hand. "You two are partners this semester."
I cursed inside my head, who the hell is going to be my partner?
"Myles Black and Atticus Stone," he said out loud as everyone whispered. Was there something I'm missing? I raised my hand and glanced around to see if Atticus was around. "You'll be paired with Mr. Stone when he shows up."
I felt everyone's eyes were on me. It's like I was paired with royalty. I heard whispers in the background and it made it even more uncomfortable for me.
The door opened and there he was, Atticus Stone running into class and scanning the area to find an empty seat. His eyes caught mine as I saw his small grin form on the corner of his lips, there go his dimples. He finally found a seat on the far corner row. "Mr. Stone, you're late!" the professor chastised him.
"Sorry, it won't happen again," he said as he caught his breath, everyone's eyes were on him. He caught me staring again as I quickly averted my eyes.
I couldn't help but smile in my head of how I woke up with him on Saturday morning. He was warm and it felt safe to have my head on his chest but my damn dream woke me up. I came out of my thoughts and glanced at him again but he was busy hearing what the professor was saying.
"Like I told Mr. Black, he'll be your partner this semester, so any help you need just ask him. I know you have a busy last semester with football but I'll fail you if you don't put some effort," he told Atticus as he quickly glanced at me. I looked down at my empty desk, this is going to be a long semester.
The lecture was finally over. "Well, it looks like you're stuck with hunky Atticus," Clark joked but I stood serious as I flung my backpack over my shoulder.
