Chapter 5

It had been a few days since my breakdown, I wasn't really looking forward to the days at school, but never once did I run into Louis again. He kept his distance, and I didn't bother him.

Today was Friday, and I was gladly looking forward to the weekend. It's been such a stressful week, and I couldn't wait to just hang out with Maliya and forget my worries.

As I walked into the class I had with Jess, Josh, and Louis, I bumped into someone.

"Oops, s-sorry, it was an accident." I looked at the girl is bumped, her head was ducked down, and she pulled her books close to her chest. It was the girl who sang the John Mayer song at auditions.

"Hey, your Athena Reylie, right? You auditioned for the Competition singing group." She looked up and gently nudged her fringe back with a small hand.

"Yeah... That's me," I smiled at her, and pulled my bag higher on my shoulder.

"Why don't you come sit with me ? I'd love to sit by someone who actually talks to me," she smiled and stood straighter, now sure I wouldn't hit her for running into me.

"But don't you sit by Louis Tomlinson? The cutest guy in school, football captain?" She sounded as if she couldn't believe I'd trade him for her.

Shrugging, and pulled her hand gently with me to the table I shared with Jessica and Josh.

"Eh," I shrugged again nonchalantly, "he's not exactly all he's cracked up to be," she giggled and began chatting with Jessica.

"Not impressed by Mr. All-That, aye?" Josh wiggled his eyebrows at me.

I rolled my eyes,"I'll tell you what I'm not impressed with, your mediocre drumming," I winked at him and he pouted, crossing his arms.

I ruffled his hair slightly, laughing as he swatted my hand away. We heard the door open, I looked up, once again meeting the beautiful blue eyes. He looked immediately to the seat he usually sat in, and a frown covered his features when he saw Athena in it. He looked at me with a sad expression, sighing and sitting in the first open seat.

"Hey, don't be too hard on 'em, he's actually a pretty cool guy," I glared at Josh, and threw a wad of paper.

"I'm not being hard on him."

The lesson went slowly, then at the end of the hour, the teacher announced a project.

"In this project, you'll be paire with a random partner of my choosing, no arguments, and you'll be doing it together over the weekend. You'll be getting together, and learning about each other, then you'll write a page explaining who that person truly is, accompanied with at least three photos of you two together." I didn't understand why we were doin this for biology, but I didn't argue. "This partner will be paired with you for the rest of the year."

I zoned out as she began listing of groups, but I snapped to attention when I heard her call out a name.

"Athena Reylie, and Niall Horan," when did Niall join this class ? I turned around and sure enough Niall lay with his his head on the desk at the back of the room. He lifted his head and cleared his throat, straightening his hair and clothes as he saw Athena walking towards him. A light blush covered his cheeks as she sat next to him.

"Josh Devine and Jessica MacKenzie," they high-fived as they sat together laughing loudly.

"And Louis Tomlinson with.." She paused scanning the roster, "Alice Jenkins." I glanced at Louis as he sighed and began walking over to me. I frowned and scooted my chair back a little, then hit my head on my desk repeatedly, feeling Louis slowly sink into a chair next to me.
