Ben returned home empty handed. He had failed to find Mal. In a way he felt like he failed her, this was all his fault after all and he had let her down in more ways than one. He struggled to concentrate ever since he lost her. He didn't want to eat nor sleep but he knew he had to. He imagined her giving out to him for not taking care of himself. He believed that she would be found and he'd be able to hold her in his arms one day again hopefully soon.
Days later, the other villains kids returned. Ben could tell by the looks on their faces that they had failed on finding her also. Evie looked heart broken as did Jay and Carlos but Evie couldn't hide it like they did.
The four of them sat in complete silence, none of them knew what to say in a situation like this. Jay broke the very uncomfortable silence.
" What now? We can't find her. We have no way in contacting her. What happens now? "
Evie let out a cry
" I guess....we have to... hope she'll be alright " Ben sighed
He never thought she'd leave. He worried about her.
" She lasted sixteen years on the Isle of the lost but couldn't even last one year here in Auradon " Carlos said
" It's all my fault " Ben said with his head in his hands
" I don't think so. I feel there is something else that we don't know " Evie sighed
" I'd do anything for her to be safe right now but all we can do is have hope " Ben said
" Hope " Evie repeated
It didn't fulfill her with that much confidence but as of now, it was all that they had. She prayed that Mal would realize this was ridiculous and would return home as soon as possible. Unfortunately for Mal, she didn't know where home was as Auradon most certainly did not feel like home nor did the Isle.

Mal walked around hopelessly. She already was lost. Her acquaintance, Skye who was now her housemate had wandered off. Mal had no idea where she was going.
" Looking for something? " a male voice said
" Somewhere actually " Mal shrugged
" Where to? I know this place very well " He smirked
Mal told him the address.
" Oh that's only down the street. I'll walk you " He replied
" Thank you. I'm M-Malia " Mal hesitated
It was probably best to not use the name she was most known by. At least it was similar she thought.
" That's pretty. I'm James " James took her hand and led her to her house mates home.
Soon they arrived at the house.
" Thank you, James " Mal said
" It was a pleasure. Will I be seeing you around? " James looked at her
" If you're lucky " Mal laughed
" Then I better hope I am " He laughed " Goodnight, see you soon I hope "
" Bye "
James walked off back into town.
" Hey? There you are I forgot to escort you to the house " Skye laughed
" It's nice to meet you. I'm Malia. Thank you for giving me a place to stay " Mal replied
" Of course, of course. It was getting kind of lovely around here " She laughed
The two girls wandered inside the house
Mal couldn't sleep. She was stuck thinking about that boy she met. James. He already had a crush on her. Mal could tell. She didn't intend to move on from Ben. Especially not this quickly. She supposed she would just have to see what would happen and what's meant to be will be.
She already missed Evie, Jay and Carlos so much. She missed Ben also. She didn't regret leaving but it was her only option. She just hoped that Ben didn't hate her for leaving. She wondered did they care about her leaving or was there a sense of relief because she would no longer cause Ben any problems. She made his life difficult as she wasn't a princess. She just hoped he and her friends would be happy even if it meant she wouldn't be in their lives anymore.
