Ben went straight to her guest room. She was due to leave in a few moments. He knocked on the door like the gentleman he was raised to be and opened it.

" Mal? " He said

Her face dropped and she couldn't get a word out even if she tried.....

" B-B-Ben? " She stuttered

Ben smiled for the first time in what feels like forever

" I feared that I would never see you again " Ben sighed looking deeply into her eyes

" But I never gave up " He added

Mal left Ben do all the talking as she simply didn't know what to say to him. She had missed him endlessly and she too didn't think it was possible that they would cross paths again. Maybe this was fate or destiny.
Ben told her everything from how worried he was about her to how sorry he was as he still blamed himself for being the reason she left. He struggled to keep himself together. He slowly broke down. Mal sat there trying her best to comfort him.

" Ben, Ben, it's okay. I'm okay. It's not your fault " Mal sighed

" You wouldn't have left? If I was a good boyfriend to you, none of this would have happened? " Ben looked at her

Mal looked away

" Maybe so.... I missed you so much Ben, I wanted to come back a long time ago but I couldn't.... I didn't know how or what to say if I did " she sighed

Mal turned her head to Ben and he pulled her into a hug and gave her a tight squeeze. She lay her head on his shoulder.

" We were never mad at you " Ben said " Just concerned, we didn't even know if you were still alive. Anything could have happened to you and if anything did it would have been my fault "

" Don't say that. I'm here now. I'm okay and you'll be okay. I want you to go and take care of yourself " Mal said concerned

" I will, I haven't been able to cause I've been too focused on finding you "

" Ben! I was gone for four years, you are the king!! You are way more important than some villain kid " Mal snapped

Ben let out a laugh. She still cared about him even after all these years. Even after she started seeing someone new. She still loved him, deep down.

" I'm sorry, I'm sorry " Ben said throwing his hands in the air

" you better be ! " she teased

" I need to know, are you staying? I won't be able to handle you leaving again. I can't lose you again. Mal, I need you. You are my soulmate and true love. I can't go on without you " Ben took Mal's hand

" Ben, I love you " Mal smiled

" I love you too "

He pulled Mal close to him and kissed her gently which she gladly returned. Ben pulled apart and continued his speech.

" If you must go, then you won't be going alone "

" Ben? " Mal said

" I will be going with you "

" Ben, you know you can't. You have a kingdom to run? " Mal smiled

She appreciated the thought but Ben had a habit of making promises he wasn't able to keep and she felt this would become one of them.

" I don't have to " Ben said

" Ben, you're not thinking straight. What are you saying? "

" I'll give up the throne . You're worth more than some crown. Besides, this way we could live a normal life together. We'll always have time for each other "

" Ben, I appreciate this, you're sweet but you've been preparing to be king your whole life. I can't let you give that up for me " Mal pleaded

" But I love you " Ben pleaded with his soft eyes

" I know you do and I want to be with you more than anything, but we have to be practical about this -" Mal said

" Mal- "

" Let me finish, none of that will be necessary " Mal said

" What do you mean? "

" I'm not going anywhere. I'm going home " she smiled.....
