“ Ben, cheer up “ Evie said whilst trying to take his measurements for his new suit which he would be wearing at his party next week

“ I wish it was that easy, Evie “ Ben sighed “ I really do “

“ Five years ago, you became king. This party is for you “ Evie beamed

“ Four years ago, Mal left. Maybe if I wasn’t king it wouldn’t have happened “ 

“ Ben, we all agreed we’d stop mentioning her name. We need to move on and so do you. As much as it hurts, you know I’m right “ Evie said “ That’s all, I’m done now “

Evie left Ben alone with his thoughts to finish making his suit. She preferred making dresses but it was an honour to make clothing for the young King Of Auradon. She just couldn’t say no.

Ben looked down on the floor. Maybe she was right even if he didn’t like it.

Meanwhile…….

James returned to their home after a long day. 

“ Hey “ Mal said “ You look happy today “

James grinned happily

“ Maybe I am. I have a surprise for you “

Mal gave him a confused look

“ Remember that night in the karaoke club. Skye brought you and that was the night I realised I loved you “ 

Mal awkwardly smiled. She remembered that night hoping she’d never see him again yet almost four years later she is in a relationship with him. She didn’t really know what she wanted anymore but she didn’t want to hurt him either.

“ We are going on a special trip….We will be singing together again. I’ve been asked to “ He took her hand

“ By who? “ Mal asked curious

“ Former King Adam and his Queen Belle; of the kingdom Auradon. They want us to sing at their son’s party to celebrate his five year anniversary since he was crowned king “ 

Mal suddenly couldn’t speak. She couldn’t. She wouldn’t. They’d recognise her. The act would be up. Everything she worked for would be gone.

“ Aren’t you happy? “ He said “ You seem dissatisfied “

“ No… I’m thrilled “ she said slowly “ This is an incredible….opportunity”

Mal struggled to find words to cover up how she really felt. 

“ Have you ever been there? I’ve heard it is beautiful “ he proclaimed

“ N-No, No I haven’t “ Mal hesitated

“ I heard it is the perfect place for wedding proposals. It’s very romantic “ He smirked at her

“ Really?” Mal played clueless. He wasn’t the only actor around here. Mal had been playing the role of someone else the past four years and he still didn’t know the truth.

“ Yeah, one day I will propose there. We will get married and have a kid or two if you like “ He hugged her

Mal felt sick.

“ Hehe. Now lets focus on reality and the present shall we. Neither of us are ready for that “ she exclaimed before he got any ideas into his head. She didn’t see that kind of a future with James. She loved him but she couldn’t picture him and herself as a married couple. Ever!

It looked like she would be seeing those familiar faces in Auradon once again. She just hoped she would get away without them realizing the truth.

AN short chapter but soon Mal will be reuniting with some familiar faces
