~Avalon~3 Days Later~

I lie in bed, staring at the wall, thinking. I haven't moved from this spot much. I only leave the bed to go to the bathroom and that is it. My food is delievered by either the maids, Kane, Mika, or someone from my family. The maids are the only ones that leave without a word, the only thing they do is give me a look of sympathy. Mika tries to talk to me and comfort me, but I just ignore her and she eventually leaves. Kane always brings me dinner and then he gets in bed and goes to sleep, not saying much.

The door opens and Kane walks in with my dinner of chicken and sets it on the table. I give him a small smile and he returns it before walking around the bed and getting under the covers. About five minutes later, I eat half of the chicken before going to bed as well.

I wake up around midnight, crying as I look at the wall. I am curled up, hugging myself. Soon, arms are wrapped around me and I roll over and lay my head on Kane's chest. He rubs my back, trying to comfort me, which works since I soon stop crying. Eventually, we just lie there.

"I hate myself," I finally whisper, staring out at the dark night.

"No, you don't, Ava," he says softly, rubbing my back.

"Yes, I do," I say, "I feel so guilty thinking this, but I'm not ready for a child right now. Don't get me wrong, I loved the baby so much," Kane doesn't say anything at all. He just kisses my head.

"If you want, I can tell you what gender the baby would have been," He says softly.

"It was too early to know the gender of the baby," I say softly, "How-?"

"Darius apparently has the ability to see into the future," Kane explains, "but he can't use it a lot since it will drain his energy and kill him," I nod.

"You can tell me what the gender would have been," I say softly, feeling the tears coming. Kane sighs before speaking.

"We would have had a daughter," he says softly and I don't answer as a few tears escape my eyes and fall onto his chest. We enter silence as I focus on his heartbeat, which helps me fall asleep.

~Mika~

I sit in Darius' room, watching him perform magic. He dies the cheesy magic, like summoning a ride for me and pulling a rabbit out of a hat. But he also does unique magic as well. He can see into the future, which apparently told him about Avalon's miscarriage.

"What is in my future?" I ask him.

"I don't know," he says with a charming smile, "if I use it again, I will most likely faint since it uses my energy," after that everything returned to silence.

"But," he says softly, walking over to his cupboard of potions. He turns around, holding a small, blue glass bottle. He walks over to me and dies next to me, "if you drink this, I will be able to see one fragment of your future of your choice," I look up at him and smile.

"I can choose anything?" I ask softly. He nous and puts the bottle in my hand.

"Anything," he says softly, looking me in the eyes. I smile again before looking down at the bottle. I lift it up a bit and pull the cork. I raise it to my lips but don't drink it.

"I want to know who I marry," I say, half of me wanting it to be Michen. Darius nods and I drink the potion and am casted into a deep sleep.

~

I wake up and see the sun setting outside the tower's window. I sit up and look around. Darius is cooking something in a pot hanGing over a fire. He turns around when he sees me and smiles.

"How'd you sleep?" He asks. I shrug.

"I slept well," I say then remember the potion I drank, "so, who do I marry?" Darius smile widens a bit.

"Well, I can tell you that you don't marry some cheat," he says, "But, I think you should wait and see who you marry," I sigh.

"Come on, Darius," I say, "tell me," he smiles and shakes his head. He was about to reply when a guard enters and informs us that we need to go down to the throne room immediately.

~Kane~

I let Avalon sleep for a bit longer. As I leave the room, I am ambushed by five guards, who take me down to the throne room, where Gram and Lydia stand with some other guards and messengers. I look around to see the room packed with officials and some citizens. Another door enters and Michen enters and walks over to his parents, nor looking at me. Soon, Darius and Mika enter and take their seat with the officials. For the next few minutes, late officials enter before Gram starts to speak.

"Kane, you have been arrested due to the several murders you have committed," Gram says loudly, seemingly glaring at me while Lydia looks at the ground. I furrow my eyebrows, confused.

"I funny commit any murders!" I saw, shocked at such an accusation. Gram glares at me angrily.

"DON'T LIE TO ME!" He says, "I trusted you around my family and what do you do? You go kill innocent people. Bring out the evidence," I watch as a maid brings out several bags of evidence. Gram pulls every obstacle out of the bag and lays it on the table.

"You tell me that you didn't commit these murders," Gram says. I am speechless. I did not commit any murders, but these pieces of evidence leads to me. I shake my head and look at the ground, not knowing what to say.

"You have killed twenty people, each getting closer to the city," Gram says loudly, "since my daughter cares deeply for you, I will not execute you," he sighs sadly, "But you will live in exile," my eyes widen as I look up at the Emperor.

"But-" I start bit stop at Gram's glare. I sigh in defeat as the guards start to drag me towers the exit.

"Kane?" A soft voice says. I turn around and see Avalon standing there, tall and beautiful. Her black hair down and nearly combed. Setting her there gives me some hope, but if I fight back, I will most likely die. Instead, I give her a smile. She returns it, though it is faint. Gram then walks up behind her and hugs her as a few tears leave her eyes. It's the last thing I see before the door closes, separating us.

A/N:

Last chapter in the book. Excuse any mistakes since everything after Mika's POV was typed using my phone.

This is not the usual happy ending in the other books. I have an idea for a love triangle involving the certain characters :-)

Thanks for reading!
