~Mika~

I watch as Avalon rushes into the room. I am glad Kane lived, and thankful for Darius, who sits down in Avalon's old spot.

"Thank you," I say suddenly. He looks over at me, "for saving Kane. Avalon would have been a wreck if he died," he smiles.

"No problem," he says. We return to silence as the ten minutes go by. We wait for Avalon to come out, but she doesn't after five minutes. I stand up and head towards the door.

"I'm going to go see what is taking her so long," I say before entering the room. I stop and smile at what I see. They are both asleep on the bed, Kane's left arm holding her close to him. I can't help but wish for something like that. But I turn around and leave as silently as possible. Darius looks at me when I leave.

"Where is Avalon?" he asks, standing up. I smile as I walk up to him.

"They're sleeping," I explain and it takes him a moment to understand, "and I think I should go to my room and rest as well," Darius smiles.

"Good night, Mika," he says politely. I smile.

"Good night, Darius," I say with a smile before heading towards my room.

~2 Days Later~

The palace doors open as Lydia, Gram, and Michen return. I stop where I am and greet them with a curtsy. Lydia smiles as she walks up to me, worry on her face.

"Where is Avalon?" she asks me. It takes me a moment to understand what she is asking.

"She is in her room with Kane," I say and she nods and starts to walk away, "but, they are sleeping," Lydia stops and nods, "They went through a lot the past few days,"

"I understand," the Empress says with a sigh and walks off. Michen walks up to my side and sighs.

"We recieved a letter saying something bad happened here and they immediatly feared the worst," he says. I nod, remaining silent. He turns to me and sighs, "Mika, whatever happened here, I want to thank you for helping," I look at him and smile.

"I barely did anything," I say softly, "I just warned all the maids that there was a mob coming this way and Kane did the rest," I look away.

"What exactly did happen?" he asks. I look at him and smile softly.

"It's a long story," I say, trying to get out of retelling the event. Michen shrugs.

"I got time," he says and I sigh before telling him everything. Soon, I end the story and look at him. He seems to be in deep thought but he soon realizes I am finished, and snaps out of his thoughts. He doesn't say anything, instead he walks away in the direction of his parents. I don't think much of it, but instead go help some maids.

~Avalon~

I wake up around noon and yawn. I smiles as I feel Kane's breath on my neck, telling me he is still sleeping. I lie there, staring at the wall, thinking. Soon, Kane moves from behind me and I look back and smile at him.

"Morning, sleepyhead," I say as I roll over on my other side and face him. He smiles as he kisses my forehead.

"Says the one who slept two days," he says and I raise an eyebrow, "what?" he asks, confused.

"I didn't sleep for two days straight," I say, smiling, "unlike you," it is his turn to raise an eyebrow.

"Well you aren't the one that got poisoned and stabbed in the back with a knife," he says, smiling. I roll my eyes at this and sit up.
