Chapter 6: Secrets Revealed

~Mika~Next Day~

        I walk down the halls, bored. Michen and his parents left two days ago, leaving me and Kane in charge of the palace. Kane has been busying himself with wedding plans and a few political matters while I have been helping the maids and cooks with errands. I wonder why Avalon had to leave to go to that farm. Whenever I tried to ask Kane, he would say she had to help them with something then go and do something. After the fourth try, I just gave up asking.

        I enter the throne room to see Kane talking to some messangers. I spot some maids having trouble with something and walk over.

        "Need any help?" I ask them and they blush and nod, "what do you need?" The blonde steps forward and clears her throat.

        "We have to clean up the palace, and there are only three of us, and five different parts of the palace, so we are trying to split up the palace in sections for us to do," I nod and start thinking.

        "I will help you guys clean up the palace, so each us can do one then we can do the last section  together," the maid nods and curtsy.

        "I heard that some of the citizens aren't happy with Avalon and Kane's marriage," the brunette says as we clean up the last section of the palace together.

        "Well, I think Avalon and Kane are adorable and they shouldn't care what the citizens say," I say, voice filled with confidence. The others nod.

        "But they really should start proving to the country that Kane is on our side," the blonde says, picking up some books and walking towards the bookshelf, "most of the country thinks that Kane is an assassin trying to kill the royal family," I roll my eyes at this.

        "I'm expecting some riots to break out, trying to proe that Kane is bad," the brunette says again, worry in her voice.

        "Well if it comes to that, then I will fight," I say, "for the good side, not the riot side," the girls smile as we return to silence once again.

        I wave goodbye to the maids as we leave the last room. I walk down the hall towards my room. I enter my room and relax on the bed, enjoying the ease it gives my sore muscles. I stare at the night sky outside my window and wonder what Avalon is doing right now.

Another short, boring chapter. But next chapter is the part where things get interesting! The chapter won't be over 2000 words.
