'Like I said, I can't.' He muttered leaning back, disdain written all over his expression.
'Xian, what you're saying- you know you will miss out on a lot of development–.'
He sighed out, pinching the bridge of his nose. 'Yeah, I know.'
Principle Nezu grimaced slightly, standing up. The atmosphere tense as he walked to the door, barely any sound coming from either of them.
'I'll have someone escort you out...' Nezu murmured to Xian, the door creaks the only sound echoing through the empty half of the building.
'I can let myself out,' Xian mumbled.
Principle Nezu nodded knowingly and gestured towards the door.
Xian knew that he had the option of coming back, it was supposed to be just a leave, for an indiscriminate amount of time, but he wasn't planning on coming back, nor would he want to.
'See you next time Nezu,' Xian sighed out, looking around at the scenery around him. From here he could see the entrance of UA, and the press that was already beginning to gather.
'Tch.' he growled slightly. 'Thought I escaped 'em by coming early as fuck.'
'Early bird gets the worm Xian!' Xian turned his head to see Present Mic coming up to him, waving.
The boy raised his eyebrow in a sarcastic smile. 'I have a bodyguard for my departure?' Xian questioned, the other two knowing full well that wasn't what he meant.
'You know, policies.' Nezu smiled, not sweetly, perhaps bitterly instead. It's hard to tell because he's a rodent.
UA is weird like that.
Xian nodded, smiling to himself and chuckling. "Policies, all about your policies..."
'Come on kid, let's get you outta here before you get mauled by cameras.' Present Mic turned his shoulder, beckoning for the boy to follow him.
Xian followed his old homeroom teacher, looking around at the hallways with a melancholic smile plastered on his face. Old classrooms, secret hangout spots, the places where he trained his quirk. This was gonna be the last time he ever saw it... or at least he hoped.
Because if he was ever to see it again, then that would mean he would have to burn it to the ground.
UA highschool. To think that two years ago, this was his first day, fresh and naive to the world that laid around him.
Sure his parents told him, of course they would, but hearing it is completely different than experiencing it, and oh boy did he have a lot of experience.
His gaze wandered to the floor as he trudged along with his former teacher, lost in his own thoughts. Present Mic looked back at him, a disappointed look on his face.
'Kid,' Xian looked back up to his teacher, snapped out of his thoughts. 'You sure about this?'
Xian wanted to bite back, he had heard everyone and their mothers say "are you sure about this?" over and over again to him. It was driving him insane. But he pushed back his irritation, giving his teacher a sincere smile and nod.
'I'm sure.'
His teacher held back a couple of tears. The two of them had gotten close over the past couple of years, and had a friendly relationship with each other. To Present Mic, Xian was the kid he never had, and a friend he thought he could have once Xian graduated. But now they were going their own ways, and it was likely that Present Mic wouldn't see the kid again, at least not for a while.
