He reached into his pocket, pulling out his villain mask and clipped it around his neck, pulling out the contact box and taking out his two deep blue contacts, the light blue and gold shining dangerously as he put it back in his pocket.
Alexis looked at Xian, or rather X, as he took his coat off, dropping it to the ground with a sinister aura.
'I warned you Four.'
'You're not–'
'Oh, but I am.' Xian smirked, the air around his hand crackling, exploding the hydrogen and oxygen.
'Get him!' Alexis yelled out, fear rising in their voice, not giving Xian a moment to think as attacks came in from every side. Xian was hopelessly outnumbered, and these people had strong quirks, they weren't just nobodies. 'There's no escape for you! No matter how strong you are!'
'SHUT UP!'
The ground shook from where he stood, splitting cracks forming from where he stood, trailing out in a blaze of fire. The villains looked down at their feet, horror spreading across their faces as their skin cracked and broke, surging up through their body until their screams echoed through the empty valley.
The ringing in Xian's ears silenced the crashing as the ground caved in on itself, the blood painting his skin. Everything was gone.
His eyes were wide, glued open at the paralytic fear that coursed through his veins. All the houses, the people, the ground itself was nothing but dust, painted red by blood.
'What have I done?'
His foot dragged in front of the other, stepping forward as the ground crackled like the almost sound of glass shards, the only other sound except for Xian's heavy breath alone in the middle of nowhere.
The dust began settling in the air, filling Xian's lungs with dirt as the sediment rose and fell, his shoes kicking it back up with every step when the dirt wasn't glued together by blood and flesh. He couldn't tell what was what, what used to be a house or a road sign was now just pieces of dust in the air and on the ground.
This wasn't his quirk, this wasn't combustion. This was his mother's quirk, the one he thought he hadn't inherited.
The dust was exactly that. Dust.
His foot hit something, stopping his step as he looked down in a bewildered gaze. He kicked at the dirt, pushing the dust away to see what it was that still remained.
An eye looked back up at him, bloodshot, half a face connected to it, the rest dissolved into the ground. Xian's stomach turned in on itself, taking what little willpower he had left to keep the bile down.
The ground behind him began to cave, dust slipping down into a sinkhole. He turned around to see a hole sucking up the earth, sucking up what used to be a ghost town, what used to be a place where people lived, before the villains, before quirks themselves.
He watched motionless as everything fell down, the ground around his feet taking after. He took three steps back, maybe four, watching as the face of an old friend, his former enemy fell down, gone forever.
The dried earth under his feet stayed still, the damage only going so far. He had to get out of here, he knew that the police and god knows who else would be swarming the area soon.
His feet moved for him, running away from the damage, running away from any touch of human life, just away. He ran until the dried soil became rich again. Until dead weeds became luscious grass scraping at the skin on his ankles. Until he couldn't run anymore.
His knees buckled outside a break in the forest, weariness getting to the better of him as his joints stopped moving, crumbling under the adrenaline fading from his veins. He tried to get a few more steps in, the faint scent of smoke keeping him conscious as his vision started to blur.
