Chapter 9: YOUR ALIVE?!? HOW?!?

Hiccup's POV

The sun is shining, Terrible terrors are singing on the rooftops, and I am being dragged to the 'Dragon choosing' to get a dragon along with Heather.

"CALM DOWN! I CAN WALK THERE I DON'T NEED TO BE DRAGGED ASTRID! Great, I am totally not a human being that can walk by myself." I yell then I tell Astrid sarcastically.

She let go and said "you two can go in now, we can't in with you because it might ruin the process"

I smile and Heather walks in and stands in the middle of the arena. I watch her from above with the others, then a Razorwip from the Sharp class of dragons, odd though because I reconi- No way Windshear? I think Heather does not recognize her but she will, I mean Heather said there is a mark on Winshear that only her dragon has. Heather puts her hand out and turns away the dragon that puts her nose in Heather's hand. She went and her eyes widened for a second and she said "I'll call you Windshear"

I smile knowing she recognizes her dragon at last but it is my turn. So after they walk out, I take a deep breath and walk in and into the middle of the arena. And I whisper something only dragons can hear me, "Toothless are you hear bud? I-It's me bud It's me Hiccup. You know from Viking times. If you are here come out please, I'm so so so sorry for not returning I-I just couldn't after finding out that everyone I knew who wasn't a Vampire or you were dead. If you are here please come out and pretend we've never met before eh? So they don't question it."

I wait and I hear a low growl in approval, my eyes widen. I see Toothless come out, I can see he is excited but is keeping it under control. Everyone gasps I hear someone say "Ruff go get the chieftess and Carol!" I then hear Running off and someone says who I assume is Ruff "Got it!"

I take a deep breath and grab a fish and offer it to Toothless. He fake causally comes over and eats it and then backs me against the wall "uh- I-I don't have anymore" Who knew that Toothless is a good actor? I didn't. He then forced me to eat it I heard the others gag when I did it.

Then Toothless drew in the dirt and made me go between the lines, and when I reached him I raised my hand and did the 'hand thing'. He put his snout in my hand and I said while petting his head "I'll name you toothless how do you like that" He then gave a roar of approval.

"H-How did you do that? He never let anyone close to him before, except me only to feed him." I heard a voice say then I whipped around and see two people additionally to the gang. I see a woman who looks a lot like the girl next to her and she looks like...Mom... from the paintings I saw in Viking times. The girl looks a lot like me but has red-er hair, for feminine structure. And a lighter green eyes, but also she has modernized clothes from when I was 25 in Viking times.

"I-I don't know... maybe he just thought I was the one? I-I really don't know..."

"No one knows why a dragon chooses a rider, they just do. I believe you. My name is Valka Haddock this is my daughter Carol Horrendous Haddock the 10th.

"Nice to meet you? My name is Hiccup, Hiccup Haroldson. I moved here a few days ago to visit Dagur a friend of mine." I introduced myself even if the first part was more of a question.

They smiled but then...a grey smoke filled the arena I heard responses from the guys:

"What's going on?!?"
"Thats awesome!"
"Cool! Grey smoke!"
"No! I'm too important to die!"
"Everyone remain calm, and stick together"
"Mom what's gonna happen?!?"
"I-I don't know hun"
"Hiccup where are you?"

"Over here, Heath!" I yell and she reaches me and we get into a battle stance her either her double-sided ax at the ready me with inferno but without the flame for now. We don't know when we will need it.

I hear screens and roars of distress when the smoke clears we see... Viggo Grimborn with all of our friends and their dragons in cages but our dragons are in the cages as well. The dragons have dragon root darts in them.

"What do you want Viggo!" I demand

"Simple. I want to ruin you! You destroyed my family's business centuries ago! I want revenge!"

"Not happening! You free them and you don't die from my hands" I tell him making sure there is a loophole. 

"Oh well, get them!!"

People come at us I see the guys wake up after a while. Heather and I are back to back.

"Ready?"
"Ready as I'll ever be! GGGAAAAHHHH!!!"
"Go, boss man!"
"Go hiccup!"

I chuckle then l light my sword on fire as me and Heather both charge and take on groups of 5 hunters. When I activated my sword and it burst into flames I heard things like Woah, amazing, I want it, don't let the twins or Snotlout have it. I laughed at the last one though.

I ducked an attack I was able to get rid of their hamlets and knocked 4 of them out with the zippleback gas when I ignited it. Heather was against the last two.  As I was fighting I was winning then I heard from Heather  "HICCUP BEHIND YOU!!"

I turned around and Ryker was there I dodged just in time. Heather was captured...I got one more unconscious but I was losing strength and failing to keep this up. When they knocked inferno out of my hands I knew I was screwed. I tried to run but they got me and knocked everyone unconscious, especially the dragons...
